I went to one store and the guy was trying to sell me an enhanced stone. I said, oh a diamond with a face lift. No thanks.

I am now

looking at a loose stone.

Thoughts?

first thought is.. not enough informations.. you didnt mention carat weight, color(G posssibly) or clarity. Now assuming a round brilliant, initial thoughts are, its a bit deep, which will look smaller for its size and reduce light return. do you have any more info you can post?

[edit] did he say what was enhanced or how???

Hello. I am not sure if this will help any, but the HCA gives this diamond a 4.8 (Good - Only if price is your main criterion). Good luck in your search.

Maybe look at this one from Jamesallen (HCA = 1.2)?

I am sorry, for the diamond info above, here is a little more info -
it is 1.01
H
SI2

The enhanced I believe were with ions? In regards to the enhanced, he could sell me a 1.18 for $3,500 - Color g and a SI1 - the think is he was guessing at these. They were not listed and not certified. I really didn't much more info than that.

Can you believe it is no longer available ALREADY?

sorry about that.

Try this one on for size. It still matched your original specs pretty closely, it's better color, better clarity, and has a higher HCA rating (which might be off a little due to the Thick Girdle.) But at $4400 it is about 500 cheaper than the original post you gave.

But this is just some of the things that I have pulled off the PS search bar up top. Give it a try, and see if you can't find better. Personally, I like the smaller diamonds that sparkle more because they look bigger because of it. I hope this is helping a little.

Very nice, I am checking it out.

In answer to your original question, I wouldn''t buy it. I''d get the biggest ideal cut stone I could for the same $$$.

Susane, good thing the first diamond is no longer available, it would likely not be the most attractive diamond by some of the numbers. The diamond posted from Good Old Gold is far more the sort of thing to consider - good pick Avlis! The G VS2 that Ordieth listed has possibilities too. I would also say to read the tutorials on cut too, it would be a big help.
