Hi!

My partner and I just purchased a 0,47ct brilliant round diamond and I didn't notice this line running through it, is it a fault/crack/inclusion or girdle reflection please? Any advice appreciated as I'm worrying :-( photos attached, thanks!

No photo. Can you also give the GIA or AGS certification number?

Hi!

I think they've attached now? It's an SI2, excellent cut, excellent symmetry, colour F.the line is horizontal 2/3 down.

Thank you!

I've put the photo as my profile picture too

Can't see pics....avatar is too far away. Most likely an inclusion. Clarity is graded from the face, not the side.

click upload file under emojis. Then, choose file. Pick file from computer. You will then see that below the emoji box. You can add it from there.

Definitely girdle reflection, all round diamonds have that.

Hi! Thank you, I've done exactly what you said and they're showing for me, sorry you can't see them!

Hi laulau12, once you've attached your photos you need to insert them inline. No one can see them atm. From the avatar almost certainly girdle reflection

Hello gm89UK

Thank you very much, I hope thats now worked. Not very good with technology! It's reassuring to see you think it's just reflection! The only inclusion listed on the GIA was a twinning wisp and we saw top down magnified photos and nothing ran from one side of the stone to the other. It is also eye clean. Thank you again!

Thank you Pyramid

That's very helpful! Looks very much like that just mine seems more of a straight line and these less defined but I'm guessing that's because these are magnified! I'm starting to feel reassured :-) thank you very much! We had a unfavourable experience with the dealer, maybe not his fault as such but something he could have done more about so I think I'm edgy!

IMG_0306.JPG There's a top down not that it's much help I know

If the girdle of your stone is thicker it will look different, I think the group with the four diamonds is showing an ideal cut diamond with thin girdle perhaps.

Ok...so, as I'm still learning about MRB's, and Rounds, in general, watching this thread, I felt like a total idiot, because I had no idea what you were talking about...lol! :lol-2: The diamond looked perfectly normal to me.
After reviewing the attached thread, I finally figured it out! I don't see anything out of the ordinary between your photos & the ones posted in the referenced thread. The fact that more experienced & knowledgeable PSers have basically confirmed that it's merely a girdle reflection should put your mind, and your heart, at ease. She's beautiful! :mrgreen2:

Yes, and thank you for the unexpected education!! ;)2
You are, indeed, very lucky! I believe anyone who receives a beautiful sparkler of any kind, shape & size is extremely fortunate. Some wait an entire lifetime for that moment.
Your partner did a wonderful job selecting a beautiful diamond for you. I'm sorry you had an upsetting experience with your vendor, but I believe, now, you can both sit back & breathe a sigh of relief...and oogle over the blinder on your finger!! :lol-2:
Blessings for a long & happy life, together!!!
