Pretty @missy still snowing like crazy here. I’m sure we are over 2 feet. Waiting for it to end....
I feel ya @missy Thank goodness for the snow blower and hubby last night though I have shoveled about five times. I mean, exercise is good but this is too much!! I hope you find someone to plow you out for tomorrow’s appt.
missy, where do they live? I would be guessing way upstate New York (Rochester, Buffalo) or the midwest. Do tell!
I love your pretty house and those views! How comforting the sea must be. Thrilling in a storm, too!
I just read the other postings that were written since I last read the thread. I hope you made it the doctor's appointment, missy, and I worry about Greg shoveling with stitches. How can you be sure he is OK?
I saw a deer leaping through the snow in the woods behind my house last night and when my dog went out yesterday, he had to leap through the snow, too, which made him look young, springy, and happy. Today I shoveled. I came in and looked up the snow fall total for our area because I wanted to know what I had (singlehandedly) handled. I am 69 and in a few days I have a birthday. Without too much muss and fuss I dealt with a walk and a snow covered car in a 13 and a half inch snow fall. (The car moves in and out of the driveway, too! I didn't have anyone plow. On the other hand I don't have a super long driveway the way I do at my Virginia house.)
We had gale warnings starting last night. Someone (not me) left the outdoor umbrella up and it took flight. thankfully it stayed in the yard and didn't hurt anyone!
It is quite chilly very windy where I am. Northern FL will get snow/ice as will southern GA I believe. Its whatever system thats pushing from the west. Its near noontime and we're under 60 degrees.
had to throw some socks on with my flipflops...lol
Greg shoveled unfortunately. It’s his stitches I’m concerned about. His surgery was just a couple of weeks ago.
Stitches are pretty sturdy, unless it’s spanning over a joint, they do a very good job staying intact. Glad his sound like they held up and was able to make the apt? Lots of appointments were cancelled here in anticipation of the snow.
Yeah calf’s are tough especially in bicyclists and folk who are muscular. Similar issue like joints cause there’s so much stretching. If it keeps happening maybe some reinforcements with steristrips? Or maybe he can listen to you and lay down and stay down for a bit
I’m so glad the ferals are ok! Poor babies. I wanted to see if shale would like being out in the snow and he basically made a little circle of No. Walked in a little semi circle back inside.

4-5 more inches predicted here in Chicago for Thur and then headed out east again!
@Diamond Girl 21 just want to say I love the view of your backyard!!!!!!!
it stopped snowing here since early in the morning. DH use snowblower to clean our driveway but the wind bring it back to the other side that he already cleaned and the snow hit his face![]()
Some of them are OK, thanks for asking Daisy. Not sure about all of them though. I do wish we could have taken them all inside. My parents leave their garage door open for their ferals during inclement weather but we don't have a garage unfortunately.
Greg went through the camera video and he saw a few of our ferals eating overnight. He kept the feeder open overnight instead of closing it (because of the raccoons) and I am glad he did since some of the cats were eating. He is going out as soon as it becomes lighter (it's pitch black here still) and shoveling a path for the kitties to get to the feeder more easily. We have a lot of snow here and it's coming down a bit still.
I won't let Greg shovel our driveway/property but for the path for the ferals as he promised he would take it slowly. I don't want his stitches popping.
I wish I could find someone to shovel our property but I have a feeling it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. We need to be shoveled out by tomorrow afternoon as we have an early morning doctor appointment in the city we have to get to Thursday but I will worry about that later.
Yasss to power. Same here. So far. Still pretty darn windy out so we are not in the clear but we made it through yesterday and hope everyone else dealing with the storm has their electricity too.
Thanks Deb! You too! How is it by you and how are you and your DD doing?
IDK our totals yet but I am guessing 18" or more? So far...
Stay safe everyone and for those who are enjoying playing outside in the snow have fun!
