Is There No Snowstorm Thread Yet?

My Aunt and Uncle have (so far) 30" of snow where they live.

Sorry I am monopolizing the thread...but here's a photo from our security camera video capturing the snow that is still happening at the moment. Once again the meteorologists were wrong! It is still snowing strong here at 9AM!

Pretty @missy still snowing like crazy here. I’m sure we are over 2 feet. Waiting for it to end....

It's annoying because I had expectations (from listening to the meteorologists and looking at the radar) that we would have been done by now with the accumulating snow. But nope. It keeps on going. Greg just went out to dig a path for the ferals. But I cannot let him shovel our driveway or walk so we are sort of stuck. There isn't anyone around we can hire to shovel so we wait. And wait. LOL. Have I mentioned I am ready to be done with winter?

I feel ya @missy Thank goodness for the snow blower and hubby last night though I have shoveled about five times. I mean, exercise is good but this is too much!! I hope you find someone to plow you out for tomorrow’s appt.

Greg shoveled unfortunately. It’s his stitches I’m concerned about. His surgery was just a couple of weeks ago.

We had gale warnings starting last night. Someone (not me) left the outdoor umbrella up and it took flight. thankfully it stayed in the yard and didn't hurt anyone!

It is quite chilly very windy where I am. Northern FL will get snow/ice as will southern GA I believe. Its whatever system thats pushing from the west. Its near noontime and we're under 60 degrees.

had to throw some socks on with my flipflops...lol

I saw a deer leaping through the snow in the woods behind my house last night and when my dog went out yesterday, he had to leap through the snow, too, which made him look young, springy, and happy. Today I shoveled. I came in and looked up the snow fall total for our area because I wanted to know what I had (singlehandedly) handled. I am 69 and in a few days I have a birthday. Without too much muss and fuss I dealt with a walk and a snow covered car in a 13 and a half inch snow fall. (The car moves in and out of the driveway, too! I didn't have anyone plow. On the other hand I don't have a super long driveway the way I do at my Virginia house.)

I just read the other postings that were written since I last read the thread. I hope you made it the doctor's appointment, missy, and I worry about Greg shoveling with stitches. How can you be sure he is OK?

missy, where do they live? I would be guessing way upstate New York (Rochester, Buffalo) or the midwest. Do tell!

It's Tuesday and still snowing here. My husband said he can't tell how much we got because of drifting. I'm just sitting under my blanket enjoying the view. Stay safe everyone.

Northwest NJ. About 2 hours away from where we are at the shore.

And it is still snowing here! Unbelievable.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph so we aren't out of the proverbial woods yet.

@Diamond Girl 21 just want to say I love the view of your backyard!!!!!!! :kiss2:

it stopped snowing here since early in the morning. DH use snowblower to clean our driveway but the wind bring it back to the other side that he already cleaned and the snow hit his face :lol:

I love your pretty house and those views! How comforting the sea must be. Thrilling in a storm, too!

Aww thanks Deb. As stubborn as men are what could I do? He shoveled. I hope he is OK. We are about to play cards and I will see if there is any blood leaking from the wound. :|

ETA He seems OK! Men. :wink2:

Be careful Deb! I wish you could hire someone to do the shoveling. The snow is pretty heavy here. Take it easy and don't overdo. ((((Hugs)))).

LOL let me guess. Your husband. Men.

We bought a cheapie (200ish) electric snow blower three years ago. It does a great job and I can run it myself. We do have a small driveway.

Greg shoveled unfortunately. It’s his stitches I’m concerned about. His surgery was just a couple of weeks ago.

Stitches are pretty sturdy, unless it’s spanning over a joint, they do a very good job staying intact. Glad his sound like they held up and was able to make the apt? Lots of appointments were cancelled here in anticipation of the snow.

I'm finding that people are actually in blizzard conditions or it's abnormally warm early on.

In the Southwestern US its going to hit 75 degrees today.

Thanks @MakingTheGrade. His stitches are on his neck and leg. His calf stitches already opened once and had to be redone.

His follow up appointment is this Thursday in the city. I think the surgeon had to cancel appointments yesterday and today. So probably it’ll be crazy there Thursday.

And it’s still snowing lol. So happy though because Samson just passed us to go to the feeder. Yay Samson is ok.

Gracie went crazy when he passed us lol.

Yeah calf’s are tough especially in bicyclists and folk who are muscular. Similar issue like joints cause there’s so much stretching. If it keeps happening maybe some reinforcements with steristrips? Or maybe he can listen to you and lay down and stay down for a bit

I’m so glad the ferals are ok! Poor babies. I wanted to see if shale would like being out in the snow and he basically made a little circle of No. Walked in a little semi circle back inside.

Haha Shale knows he’s got it good. He’s not stupid. Staying inside where it’s warm and cozy. ❤️

HAHAHA...Shale was not having it at all.

4-5 more inches predicted here in Chicago for Thur and then headed out east again!

Oh no -- I hadn't heard that! I was going to take a zip downtown to my place on Friday morning, but not if there is a potential for bad roads.

@missy hmm Greg shoveling, and stitches! men.. sorry he's doing that, I understand why he's doing it, cause he's GREG! the GREAT.. and no finer a guy ever... keep at him! I'm glad the ferals are eating at your house, they know of one place they can be pretty safe and get a bite.. xoxoxo

@AGBF hey Deb, how's things in CT besides a ton of snow, Danbury, where I went to high school got about 20 inches! only the first year I lived in Maine did we get that much.... take care and don't shovel much... xoxo

@munchee thank you so much!

Oh no! I feel sorry for your poor husband. Hopefully he can rest up and get warm now.

Some of them are OK, thanks for asking Daisy. Not sure about all of them though. I do wish we could have taken them all inside. My parents leave their garage door open for their ferals during inclement weather but we don't have a garage unfortunately.

Greg went through the camera video and he saw a few of our ferals eating overnight. He kept the feeder open overnight instead of closing it (because of the raccoons) and I am glad he did since some of the cats were eating. He is going out as soon as it becomes lighter (it's pitch black here still) and shoveling a path for the kitties to get to the feeder more easily. We have a lot of snow here and it's coming down a bit still.

I won't let Greg shovel our driveway/property but for the path for the ferals as he promised he would take it slowly. I don't want his stitches popping.

I wish I could find someone to shovel our property but I have a feeling it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. We need to be shoveled out by tomorrow afternoon as we have an early morning doctor appointment in the city we have to get to Thursday but I will worry about that later.

Yasss to power. Same here. So far. Still pretty darn windy out so we are not in the clear but we made it through yesterday and hope everyone else dealing with the storm has their electricity too.

Thanks Deb! You too! How is it by you and how are you and your DD doing?

IDK our totals yet but I am guessing 18" or more? So far...
