Is There No Snowstorm Thread Yet?

Thanks @MakingTheGrade. His stitches are on his neck and leg. His calf stitches already opened once and had to be redone.

His follow up appointment is this Thursday in the city. I think the surgeon had to cancel appointments yesterday and today. So probably it’ll be crazy there Thursday.

And it’s still snowing lol. So happy though because Samson just passed us to go to the feeder. Yay Samson is ok.

Gracie went crazy when he passed us lol.

I hope Greg is ok Missy with his stiches
I saw this doco once on cats and it showed their body warmth and even out in the snow they are very good at staying warm
But that's a lot of snow
The ferrels must be so happy to have good food in their bellies right now

HI:

Well, Winter is coming. Snowfall warning and fridge temps. We go to +9C to -15C, snow and even colder temps (-24C) later this week). Who Knew??

cheers--Sharon

Oh no -- I hadn't heard that! I was going to take a zip downtown to my place on Friday morning, but not if there is a potential for bad roads.

@munchee ....Looks like there's a UFO in your first picture.

Good morning! My friend sent me his snowy NYC photos.

I feel the same @munchee ! I would hate to never enjoy it but I prefer it in a gentle snowfall with it gone the next day. Lol.

I'm finding that people are actually in blizzard conditions or it's abnormally warm early on.

In the Southwestern US its going to hit 75 degrees today.

I'm in the northeast, but the day after the snow, the local paper reported that our snow had officially become a blzzard. Don't ask me how. I wasn't paying close attention at the moment; I had just finished shoveling and only wanted to know the depth of the snow!

4-5 more inches predicted here in Chicago for Thur and then headed out east again!

My daughter is already nagging me to buy Clementines before the next snow, lest she be stranded without them.

@missy hmm Greg shoveling, and stitches! men.. sorry he's doing that, I understand why he's doing it, cause he's GREG! the GREAT.. and no finer a guy ever... keep at him! I'm glad the ferals are eating at your house, they know of one place they can be pretty safe and get a bite.. xoxoxo

@AGBF hey Deb, how's things in CT besides a ton of snow, Danbury, where I went to high school got about 20 inches! only the first year I lived in Maine did we get that much.... take care and don't shovel much... xoxo

Danbury always gets more snow than we do here on the coast unless it's a coastal storm. Anything north of the Merritt Parkway is in the snow band. Our climate is moderated by The Long Island Sound, which you probably remember from when you lived in Fairfield, Connecticut.

It was quite chilly last night. I think tonight is more of the same.

Same here missy!!! Imagine growing up in a tropical country where temp is 90-100F all year long and now I have to deal with this cold. But I found that a good winter coat does keep me warm, so I’m not afraid of cold anymore. But yea driving around in a snowstorm or snowy days is still annoying!!!

The snow started yesterday, early in the afternoon. By evening, it had stopped.
So, being farther north than the folks in the Eastern Seaboard, we didn’t get the wallop that they did. It was just a heavy snowfall, but I wouldn’t call it a storm.

HI:

We got 8 cms of snow overnight. Nice bright day today, but -16C. Horrid temps and more snow to come. I really need to live in Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers--Sharon

Where did you grow up, @munchee?

Deb :wavey:

Is it as cold where you are as where Sharon (canuk-gal) is?

Manhattan did a good job of clearing the snow.

It gets dirty here fast though.

As opposed to the shore where it stays cleaner longer.

Being from Ohio I miss it sometimes, rarely but sometimes. We don't get it hardly at all here in NC

It really is breathtaking when it is still fresh and white.

No, not at all.
Thank you for asking @AGBF . Last week, before the storm, it was just as cold as at @canuk-gal But since the storm, the weather has been quite mild.

Today was a very pleasant -4 C, sunshine and no wind. A gorgeous winter day! :)

It’s amazing how we usually get beautiful sunny and COLD days after a storm! =)2

We were lucky where I live: after the storm, beautiful sunny and mild today. Only -4C. A real heat wave.

Oh I know. We had 9C last weeK! Downright balmy. And a mild winter to be sure. But it turns on the dime here. Oh those Rockies!

I believe you’re in Alberta, @canuk-gal??

My husband and I often visit friends in Calgary.

Usually, the day after we leave, they tell us that we’ve just missed a Chinook. We have actually yet to experience one.
I jokingly tell my friends that I don’t believe the Chinook really exists.8-)

The first time we visited Alberta was during the month of December, the temperature never got above -38 C.

I was never so cold in my life, though we did go cross country skiing, and to the Banff hot springs (the water was +36 C).

Yes.

Chinooks are a wonder!!!! The skies! The warmth! But the wind!!!!!

We've had some long stretches of horrific cold temps in Winter's--but not this winter, which is odd. But it is coming within a week. It is truly intolerable for humans, furry creatures, cars, buildings and roads. :)

I hope it won’t be as bad as they forecast @canuk.

I had to use a temperature conversion chart to work that one out. Usually I have some "markers" for Celsius temperatures that I know, but I didn't recognize -38C. It is -36.4F which I have never experienced! Yikes.
