Is Symmetry important than having an ideal cut?

I am buying a diamond this week but I did not really understand if a good symmetry with a very good polish is good enough..... it is a 1.81 carat diamond, F-color, VVSI-clarity, Depth-60.9, Table- 56, with GIA certificate but as I mention above the Symmetry - GOOD, Polish -VERY GOOD....

Is this a good buy or should I request the Symmetry to be VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT and so as the Polish...

I believe it's a matter of the personal taste.

). You can get a diamond with excellent symmetry and polish but if proportions are wrong it will be less brilliant than a diamond with only good symmetry but right proportions.

However, some people want every detail to be perfect. So to be certain, try to see different diamonds yourself with excellent, very good and just good symmetry and make your own decision.
