I wanted to get the beginner's set from D. Atlas that has the light, ASET, tweezers, etc. However, I'm eyeing this Lumagny scope and was wondering if it would eliminate the need for digital calipers and would give me a "short-cut" on a stone's dimensions.
I'm primarily looking at old cut stones so I think the numbers will be less important. Just sharp eyes. However, I'm still intriqued with what the scope can do.
I tried searching the forum but there is only one thread that even mentions the scope (unless I"m searching incorrectly).
Does anyone have one and can give me some insight?
Thanks
