Hi All :wavey: Newbie here! I recently joined and I’m so excited! So much knowledge...Wow!

I would really appreciate your advice. I have had a round stone diamond tennis bracelet on my wish list for 10-15 years.

I have never been sure where to begin in choosing one since prices seem to be all over the place. It was recently my 25th Anniversary so I think now may be the time.

What quality diamonds are recommended for tennis bracelets? I know color and clarity are different compared to buying an engagement ring. A jeweler I have used said I should have G/VS. Recently another jeweler said H/VS2/SI eye clean.

My budget is around $50K. Also my husband would love me to get a “25 carat gift” for our 25th Anniversary! That would be cool if possible. The bracelet should be around 6.5 inches.

I do appreciate a good value so please let me know if there are any special stones I can look for to maximize my budget.

Also what should I look for when having it set? What makes a good setting?

Thank you in advance!!! I’ve waited and saved for a long time....I just want to get it right! I really appreciate any and all advice!

For 25 carats could you perhaps get both a 5 ct bracelet and a 20 carat riviera necklace? (Or even an 8 ct bracelet and 17 ct necklace...) You should easily be able to stay within a 50k budget with Whiteflash or High Performance Diamonds, the 2 most popular super elite vendors this forum tends to recommend. HPD just recently posted a riviera on their instagram. If you want to spend it all on one trinket I think a 50k bracelet would be coming from T&co or VCA etc, and you won’t need our advice....

Congratulations in reaching your 25th anniversary!

A 25cttw tennis bracelet is almost certain to be a custom piece.

Starting with each "C" and decide on what is acceptable and not acceptable in terms of physical appearance as well as what is mind-clean to you.

If I were to spend 50k USD on a single tennis bracelet, this would be my own criteria:

Cut - ideal H&A
Carat - I put this after Cut as having 25cttw in the bracelet is a significant consideration
Colour - G/H would be my mind-clean, however, I am prepared to drop to I to stay in budget if required
Clarity - VS1/VS2 would be my mind-clean, however, I am prepared to drop to SI as long as it is eye clean

As for the 5th C as in Confidence, I would probably go to vendors such as Whiteflash, HPD, BDG and IDJ as they come highly recommended in this board.

Good luck with your purchase, and please post pics when you have it.

DK :))

2K / carat would be a many-row bracellet if all diamonds are to be of the same size, they certainly do not need to be so. Either would be custom work.

I love the idea of the bracelet and necklace!

Wow 25 years is a big milestone! Congratulations!
I think a necklace & bracelet would be beautiful.

Btw, i Love the necklace in your avatar, would love more info about it!

Me too!! (Hi @Polabowla !!)

$50K budget for a tennis bracelet? I have got to see this thing! WOW.

I think that bracelets should be similar specs to an engagement ring because you will spend a lot of time looking at it and others will see it more closely as well. Having said that, larger stones often show more color and clarity than smaller stones.

Do you mind sharing the specs of your engagement ring? I do worry about overshadowing your engagement ring since the bracelet will be super blingy! I personally tend to make sure my other jewelry is the same spec or below my engagement ring to not take away from it (silly I know)!

That aside, I do think the ideal cut, G/H, VS eyeclean specs are fine. I think it's important to be consistent with the specs across all the diamonds and would prefer no florescence. In terms of carat, I have no idea what the individual carat weight should be, but I would likely go as large as possible within your budget without sacrificing the other specs! The setting and how far apart your diamonds are will take up some of the space.

I personally like the 3 prong setting as it allows the round diamonds to show their shape the best. I would definitely go with platinum as it will stand up to everyday wear a bit better than gold. I would also recommend some type of safety clasp and insurance given the value of the bracelet!

Please do post pictures of the bracelet and even the ones you are considering!! And, would you indulge us in photos of your necklace and other jewelry? I have a feeling your collection is amazing!

Wow thank you so much for all of your feedback! I did not expect so many thoughtful replies! You have given me so much to thinking about!!

I’m not sure how to quote (sorry not too tech savvy) but I will do my best to reply everything mentioned!

What a great idea to consider a bracelet plus necklace to reach 25cts. I did not think of that! I will think about this and research necklaces a bit more.

The heart picture in my avatar is a pic I found on Pinterest about 5 years ago and had saved on my phone. It will probably be the next piece I will research as it is on my wishlist too! I love having a wishlist!

You asked about some of my other jewelry. I’m a little shy to share. I never really post on forums. This is a pic of my studs- they are hearts and arrows 6ct total. They make me happy. My hands and nails look awful sorry! This is what quarantine has done to them

I don’t have pic of my engagement ring...it is around 20 years old and I don’t remember the specs. It is in my safety deposit box. It is about 3.5 ct Radiant cut. I love it! I will find a pic and post soon.

However I will wear this bracelet on a different wrist.

I really do enjoy diamond jewelry and skimp on a lot of other things in life to save up! I make my own coffee, we eat at home a lot to save but also be healthy...I have all kinds of strategies lol! My mom is the same! She would clip coupons and look for deals but then indulge on a special diamond piece every few years.

My husband really thinks I should get a 25 ct tennis bracelet so stones would be about 1ct each.
Is there any way to do this in my budget of 50k? Any recommendations? I know 1ct is not possible so close would be nice.

Also a jeweler that I have worked with before showed me this bracelet. It is 29 ct (I would remove 2-3 stones it was too long). He said it was J color, eye white. I don’t think it was certified but he offered me an appraisal. He was asking $65K. I said no...because I did not know what I was really buying and appraisers I have used are still closed right now. But it was beautiful! And my husband liked it a lot.

Here is a pic I took...we did not see yellow...but it was a gloomy day....and I do see some yellow in this pic. i also have never bought or considered J...
Would love your thoughts..
Thank you!!!!

Gorgeous earrings! If you are open to lab diamonds, 1ct stones are doable (you could look into buying 25 1ct Lightbox Jewelry diamonds and having them reset for probably under $30k or graded lab stones for a bit more).

Personally, while I do like lab diamonds (especially Lightbox) for their value and for certain pieces, with your budget and the sentimental value, I would prefer earth mined and near colorless (H or better). Maybe you could target something just shy of 1ct to save money since prices go up a lot at the 1ct mark. The diamonds from the bracelet photo appear to be larger than 1ct, perhaps 1.5ct each?

Ask for hearts and arrows stones for the bracelet. That and color are most important... the clarity won’t be as crucial for the bracelet. Also, I personally would not do platinum. I have a few tennis bracelets and one is in platinum and it is very heavy. But for someone else the weight may be appreciated, so just something to keep in mind. You should also see different ways the stones can be set. I personally do not care for 3-prong styles. Again, personal preference so start looking around to get ideas and see what appeals to you. Congrats on the big anniversary!

Try looking through this thread. I went through a similar process but on a MUCH smaller scale some years ago. I found that the setting makes a huge difference as to how it looks. And taking into consideration your stones are going to be substantially bigger, that may make a big difference in how you set it. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Post lots of pics as you try various settings as you go on your search.

@miimac7 's tennis bracelet is one of my favorites ever posted on PS!

I wonder if .8 carat rounds, around G color could fit - this old story could be useful: www

On the other hand, the stones do not have to be round - www

I love the idea of one tennis bracelet totalling 25ct!!

That bracelet you showed of J colour priced at $65k is far too over-priced! If I were you, I'd reach out to the vendors that others have recommended, ie. WF, HPD, BGD.

@cflutist has some gorgeous, substantial tennis bracelets made by HPD, she describes the process here, plus there are photos for inspiration!

I was going to write to suggest a 1ct each bracelet, I think it might not be possible to do a 1ct each bracelet that will fit you (25 stones = 6.39in I think, roughly, for the stones but depending on the metal setting it could stretch out enough?) but you could do slightly smaller stones that still look similar, or do a fancy shape (like pears/marquis/oval) lying horizontally. I saw an extremely elegant woman a few months ago (in December) at a party who was wearing a bracelet of 1ct rounds and her hand dazzled me, it was STUNNING. I wanted to ask her details but I was afraid she might get weirded out by me.

Another suggestion if you don’t want anything that big would be a colored diamond tennis bracelet! But I’ll be honest - I would still suggest the bigguns - you’ll get some serious sparkle and it’ll truly be an heirloom forever bracelet!

Also, another suggestion might be to get an eternity bangle bracelet (like a round shape instead of an oval shape bracelet) instead of a tennis bracelet - the latter is more flexible and flowy and possibly more cost effective (others more knowledgeable than me can weigh in here) but the former looks even more prominent and effortlessly cool because of the round shape of the bracelet.

Following this thread with bated breath to see what you decide!

This is FUN! My tennis bracelet is from ID jewelry. Not NEARLY this size, but very sparkly. Maybe speak to them too? Also had my 25th this year! Congrats!!

Now that you are considering adding a necklace, what about throwing in some nice pierced earrings, this way you will have the total Bling experience.

Wow! You guys are awesome! Thanks for taking the time to give me al of these fantastic ideas, suggestions and helpful links. I’ve read them all and I appreciate your different outlooks on the same project.

Looks like I have some thinking and research to do! I’m so excited about this project! I’m going to start with some calls to the jewelers you have all suggested just to understand prices better.

I will keep you posted!

Thank you!!!
