I thought I''d post one of the before shot - as a martini setting. I know some people will like it better the old way - totally fine and it won''t hurt my feelings one bit!

thanks kittybean! I keep looking at it, wondering if it''s too thick but I think I need to just be ok with it! If it was a smaller stone, I think the thickness would bother me more. And it really doesn''t look think in real life. I think I''m just used to seeing all the super thin custom bezels on here! I really didn''t want the super thin one either though! So thank you!
Stop wondering--it''s not too thick at all

! It really is perfect for your stone. I''m so partial to bezels, and your necklace looks like it will be great for all occasions.

thanks tigian!

and thanks again kittybean!

It looked very nice before but the bezel gives it some definition. The neck is a large area - unlike a finger - so I really like the bezel.

It is very pretty - enjoy and good for you for safekeeping it for your daughter one day - you''re a good mother!

I love it too, it looks beautiful on you!

It''s beautiful! It looks great on you!! And I personally prefer it in bezel than the martini! Your daugther is so lucky to be able to inherit it one day!

I think the redo looks GREAT!! The martini is a nice style, but it just wasn''t working for you so it didn''t work. Nice change.

What a great back set bezel- Love it!!! cuz if you ever wanted to replace it with a gemstone later

the bezel doesn''t have to be destroyed! I love it! and for a fraction of a full bezel- what a deal! It looks gorgeous!

thanks MissGotRocks - good point about the neck being a larger area. And thanks for the nice compliment - I can''t wait for her to have it one day.
luv2sparkle - thank you - I really appreciate that!
Luckyeshe - thanks and I''m glad to hear someone likes it better than the old setting. You know how it is to second-guess what you''ve done!
thanks Stone Hunter - you''re right - this style will (hopefully) allow more wear and enjoyment.
D&T - great idea about putting a colored stone in it one day. I''m going to remember that! And I''m so glad people think I didn''t overpay.

I really appreciate all the nice compliments. I''m still on the fence about the thickness of the bezel but I think the difference in the styles (from old to new) is just a totally different look that takes some getting used to! My husband liked it a lot and said it looked so much bigger. He also enjoyed the photo I posted of the pendant next to my ering. That photo shows the difference in a great cut stone and a not-so-great cut stone! He was amazed.

Hi Katiedid,
I think it looks fantastic and HUGE in a good way. Honestly the bezel doesn''t look much thicker than the latest custom bezels we''ve been seeing -- the kind of donut ones. I think you''re just comparing to smaller *stones* ... as a lot of them have been .40-.60 ish ... and your stone is just bigger.

Love the martini setting too. I was all into the bezel until I saw that old shot & it took my breath away too! (I don''t even like RB''s that much!) But both versions are terrific - its a matter of which is more "you". I''d 99% of the time pick a bezel for myself vs. prong setting.

Congrats! Great recycle!

thanks deco! You''re probably right - I''m used to seeing smaller stones. The martini really is beautiful - I think it''s prettier but it''s just not as practical and there were things about it that I wanted to change. It didn''t stay centered and tended to ride up my neck. It seemed a little dressier so I tended to wear it when I felt more dressed up, as opposed to just putting it on with anything. And I knew the bezel would make it pop and look even bigger than the martini. All in all, I think it was a good recycle. Wish I had 2 stones and could do one of each style!

Don't worry, the macro images make everything look monstrous...the neck shot is TDF!

Love the bezel! I think it gives the pendant some added oomph!

Katie! I love that pendant, and BTW, i much prefer the new setting to the old one!

The new setting is stunning and so wearable! It makes the stone look so BIG! Lucky daughter to inherit such a lovely piece!

I love it. It''s beautiful! It''s just enough pizazz!

thank you Laila619!
violet3, so glad you prefer this new setting!
thanks aprilbaby!

Lovely pendant. I''m glad you switched to a more wearable design. Pretty jewelry should be worn, and that piece is especially nice.

Oh, that is just gorgeous!!! It looks beautiful on you, and no way is the bezel too thick, it''s perfect! It showcases the diamond beautifully and really makes it pop! The martini is pretty, but honestly I prefer the bezel, it''s so classic, and great for everyday wear, dang I''m jealous!

Gorgoeus! I love the bezel setting!

thank you Fly Girl, junebug and kelli!

All of you have made me feel so much more at peace with the decision to change settings! I was worried when I posted photos that I wouldn''t get many responses because everyone on here seems to love the thinner bezel look so much more. I knew when I ordered this, it wouldn''t be that thin but I didn''t want to spend any more than I did by having to have something custom made.

And in real life, you just don''t see that big donut of metal that you see on macro shots! Anyway, I''m wearing it today, I think it''s beautiful and I really appreciate all the comments on it!

i know i am late to posting here... but i had to chime in and say I LOVE WHAT YOU DID WITH THIS!!! my mom "lost" her diamond with my dad years after the divorce, i would have loved to have been given something like this. I can only imagine how much it will mean to your beautiful daughter. she is such a lucky girl. i really think this is the sweetest thing ever!!!

i really love the bezel too, not too thin, and definately not too thick, its perfect really. thanks so much for sharing. what a wonderful piece.

Beautiful pendant and it looks great on you.

I really love that setting and I think it''s perfect for your stone. It looks lovely

I like it both ways, but personally am partial to bezel set necklaces.

here it is next to my 1.01 ct ering
I think this is a great shot. It really shows the difference in cut, as your husband noticed. And it shows how a bezel adds mm visually to the stone.
