Hi all,

I''d like to seek your assistance once again. Been busy with work but managed to squeeze time to pore over some websites.

How do you rate this loose diamond by James Allen. I think I shall cut and paste the webpage here: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-VVS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1194961.asp

I read somewhere that JA don''t provide ASET images. Should that worry me and would my purchase be sound just by basing on the IS?

Thank you all for your inputs.

Looks good.

That will be a beautiful diamond.

Thanks guys..
So there''s no need for an ASET image is it?

JA don't offer ASET, the Idealscope image is sufficient.

Looks great!! IS works just fine for rounds, but isn''t quite as good for fancy shapes as ASET.

Ah I see. So for rounds IS is sufficient but for fancy ASET is required. Thanks for the lesson.

So do I need to ask JA anymore reports eg Hearts & Arrows image, the picture of the diamond itself or even SARIN report?

Well I''m an engineer so I go by the numbers and reports. heh. It''s ingrained in me now. (although ironically I hate the paperwork associated with reports.

Definitely get the Hearts and Arrow images since it is sold as such.

Not necessarily. You can ask for Hearts images if you wish, they are providing that now, but the pic and AGS report are linked on the diamond info page. A Sarin would basically reconfirm the numbers on the AGS report and show how much variation there is in similar facets, but since AGS has already measured that and given the symmetry an Ideal rating, we know the Sarin would be good.

You know I looked to see if it was sold as h&a this morning and I could have sworn it was not, otherwise I definitely would have suggested hearts images.....weird.

Lorelei, now you got me jumpy.. heh.. so is there an issue with the diamond being a true H&A? Although it is stated as such in JA''s website..

Does it hurt you to verify it yourself? The only way to see if it is a H&A is to view the hearts and arrows image as once mounted you can''t see the hearts image which is more difficult to achieve. Previously JA does not provide these images.

LOL! Don't worry! When I checked the diamond out a few hours ago I checked to see if it was sold as h&a as if so I would have said to you to ask for hearts images, and I didn't see that it was so I didn't mention the hearts images. Now it is quite possible these old eyes missed that it said h&a and it was my mistake - or maybe they updated the page.

As it is sold as h&a just ask JA for the hearts images then we can go from there.

Ok.. Well I definitely will ask them for the images. Can''t really see the diamond for myself though as I am not from the states and am working out at sea.

So even when the package arrives, I guess I won''t be the first one to look at it.

Thank you guys. This site is great and has been so helpful (the people too of course).
