Ink (tattoos)

Forgive me if this has been discussed, but do any PSers have any they care to share?

I just got (yesterday) a new tattoo on my left foot; I only have one other small one. This one was done to commemorate my daughter's 18th birthday yesterday (she got one also ... an 18th bday bucket list item) as well as my birthday later this week. We are both Cancers, are two peas in a pod, and I like wine. I also really wanted to get the cancer constellation, but with diamonds in place of the stars, but it wouldn't be big enough to make the diamond detail doable.

Mine is attached; DD doesn't want her's posted for personal design reasons. But it was fun & memorable to share that experience with her on her special day (we did other bday celebratory things earlier in the weekend).

Show me the ink, if you're inclined ... and share the story/meaning.

That is really cute. Packrat has a lengthy thread about her tats somewhere close to this first page of Hangout; I think Lil Misfit is another who might have a thread about them somewhere, iirc.

I have 2. They are in places no one can see unless I want them to. I got one done when I was 18, the other when I was 19. I won't be getting any more, and in fact I'll probably look into getting one of them removed at some point. Maybe both, depending on the process and my pain tolerance. Not for any particular reason, really, just that I'm tired of them.

Thank you all for the Kind comments, and my apologies for not having searched first for like-topic threads.

Monarch - I also have one other in a non-visible place. I have heard that tattoo removal is pretty painful (worse than getting the tattoo); is that consistent with what you may have read/heard? I actually forget about my other sometimes because I can't even see it unless in a mirror.

Mary - thanks! I will check out that thread. I like seeing what others are inspired by and decide upon for themselves.

Redwood - thank you. The foot tat - for me - was about 30% quick-wincing pain, 60% typical yet tolerable tat pain, and 10% tickling sensations. It wasn't AS painful as I thought/heard, but I do have a high threshold for pain, so ...

DF - nahhh, maybe I will get HRC's mug on the left cheek & Chump on the right.

Kenny - it's a drunk crab, so it's clean & sterile thanks to the alcohol. Thank you!

One of my friends recently changed careers to a tattoo artist. She was very well established and renowned in her previous career, so it was a bit of a shock! But she loves it. Her stuff is a bit different than what I'd want for myself, but I think it would make me feel better to actually KNOW the person doing it! I have none, but have wanted to get something for a while.

The Phoenix is hard to get a photo of....it's on the inside of my bicep and goes almost into my armpit. So excuse the odd photos I took trying to capture all the angles
