hmmm.... Noobie. Didn''t you get a moritorium on buying more gems for DW? You can send that 5 stone band my way to keep peace in the family!
Yes lop, that''s true, but I''ve disobeyed twice. Isn''t that just like us guys; not to listen. So far no punishment. Besides how many girls you know would say "I don''t want it, take it back when presented with them?"

Weren''t you working on an eternity band? What''s up?

I love the larger facets! Had this been available when I was first searching I would have TOTALLY bought this cut!

Well... depending on what it costs I suppose!
9.gif

Are they available for purchase???? Where?????

Just WOW....I''m not a huge princess fan, but that is just breathtaking!

Are they really larger facets? I thought the stone was just a smaller stone and therefore a more close up shot. Hmmm...Do the new cuts have fewer, larger facets?

Ahhhh, so you did read all those threads (I never know how many PS regulars were part of the princess threads). And I had forgotten about the tiny inclusion. I guess you''re right--an upgrade is in her future!

Too funny about the Jonathan comment--poor guy!

Thanks I am on the site now... ICEMINE is the closest to me :-) UGH I JUST left the D.C. area last week after being there for three months at the Pentagon...ARGH!
33.gif

I did a search at ICEMINE and nothing came up
33.gif
I will have to call and inquire...

My father used to tell me...things always have a way of working in your favor.....I just posted a question regarding finding a Princess Stone......and now I see this. Can we turn this drooling into an informative discussion on this cut??? Or even some info between drools???

LOL. Cute. Reeeeaaaaaaal cute people :)

ACTUALLY, I was recently thinking about an upgrade b/c I got *big* fever
11.gif
...which reminds me that I need to email Mark back......And looking at researcher's ginormous rock doesn't help matters much.....

This new cut sure is pretty! BUT, now I'm spoiled with a 64 depth stone. Don't think I can go back to a deeper stone now...I would actually do a round GASP! But I think I'm *good* until my 5th anniv when you bet your booties that I'm getting a larger stone. I'd love another cushion but a round is a possibility... And you know, I can still see the little dot but I don't really look for it anymore...probably bc the stone is FILTHY all the time. I never ever take it off so there is hard water build up...bad girl.

The post regarding the "bigger" facets had me wondering if that really was the case, so I looked at WF. I now stand by my previous post that I think it was just a smaller Infinity stone compared to my stone. Here''s a photo of a "standard" princess cut:

And again, here''s the Infinity:

Just thought it might be better to compare these photos

A very good observation, vertical.

The first cutting guidelines of AGS were for princess-cuts with 45 facets, meaning two chevron facets (the facets between the two main pavilion facets).

Traditionally, a lot of princess-cuts however are cut with more chevron-facets, resulting in more and smaller facets. By adding more chevron-facets, cutters can get away with a higher difference in angle between P1 and P2, thus giving them the possibility of hiding more weight in the pavilion.

Personally, I prefer the facet-arrangement with only 2 chevron-facets, 45 facets in total thus, for all stones under 2 Cts. For bigger stones, I might be inclined to add an extra line of chevron-facets. In a lower weight, I think that more facets make the stone more busy, but less nice.

Yesterday, I received the newest AGS cutting guidelines for princesses with more chevron-facets. I did not have enough time to study it in detail. Anyway, we will stick to our current 45 facets for all stones under 2 Cts.

Therefore, while not necessarily all traditional princess-cuts will have more and smaller facets than our AGS-0 princess, it is definitely true in a majority of cases.

Live long,

You may have trouble finding them. Paul is cutting them as fast as he can, and we keep selling them even faster. There are actually people waiting to have specific sizes and qualities cut on special order. I am meeting with Paul next week in Vegas at the big jewelry show that starts next weekend. He is coming in a few days before the show to meet with Pete Yantzer at AGS to talk about cutting issues so as to improve his already stunning success at producing the AGS 1''s and 0''s. I recently sold an AGS 1 that I actually liked better than the AGS 0 that I sold.

One thing I can tell you for sure, that the AGS1''s and 0''s look WAY better than any other princess I have ever seen. Kudo''s to AGS for setting the standards, and Kudo''s to Paul for taking the time and making the effort to have stones cut to those parameters!

I will post a couple of pictures of an AGS 0 princess. I think it better not to mention any size or other specifics other than to say that at 10x you can see the SI2 clarity grade in the pictures. This is one of those stones where the SI2 is the right grade, but you sure can''t find it with the eye if you have normal vision!

And the Idealscope also at 10x estimated

If you go to Paul Slegers site you can find a list of his dealers.
