Like a light reddish brown. But I haven't had more than 1/2" of roots in 20 years and hopefully never will. Red with gray is friggin a nightmare. I am terrified of gray.
Gray does suck! Maybe I'll shave my temples & attempt some kind of Tribal/Mad Max kinda thing. :naughty:
lololol if you do I require pics. I mix the roots with a little brown just to get the roots the right red.

I actually replaced kerastase with the Loreal pro vitamino color. I got better retention from the Loreal than the more expensive kerastase version. I alternate it with Bumble creme de coco.

But no "standard" shampoo and cond is enough to keep it intact. Color depositing products are vital!

Just to double-check, you used the Chroma Riche (introduced in early 2011) and not the Chroma Reflect? They have very similar looking bottles and are both marketed for color-treated hair, but they're very different on the red dye-retention issue.

(Yes, I too have spent too much money on hair products-- gotta love the red, but that color will make you WORK for it, doesn't it?)
Yep thats what I used. When the salon stopped stocking it regularly (they would just order it for me) I started just buying it on the Kerastase site because it was faster AND I got little minatures (of which I have TONS for travelling). But I ended up trying the Vitamino Color when I was in buying the Bumble at a different salon, and I ended up returning all but one bottle of the Kerastase. It for me anyway, held color better. I don't dye my ends, I use colored conditioner to color them (it stains them!) And this stuff doesn't rip it out like the Kerastase did after the next shampoo. I can skip days of color conditioner now.

They stopped making the little conditioner bottle they made that was awesome, and now it's just masques and leave ins. I do want to try the "Sensitive Balm" or whatever it's called. It sounds like a low-detergent cream with low lather. But there are days that I just "wash" with conditioner and that works just fine.

Totally get it now. ;) In the end, I think we use different methods. Though my colorist only dyes the roots as well, the ends gain their color through a tinted gloss treatment @salon, and the new Kerastase doesn't strip the gloss out-- but if the process you use for end color is conditioner-deposit versus gloss-deposit, therein probably lies the explanation, eh?

So, what's your top option at this point for the shower storage issue?

Banning him from showering at home! Lol

I'm too sick to fight with him right now so I'm going to deal with it again in a few days.
