Hi All,

My knowledge on diamonds is quite limited and was hoping someone could give me some advice!

I want a cushion cut diamond with the following: COLOUR - above G, CUT - Very Good to IDEAL, CLARITY above VS1 and size .90 to 1.0 carat. Based on price this is what I am able to afford:

http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-details/LD07920910
http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-details/LD07870182
http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-details/LD07769770

I have also provided two attachments of GIA reports on TWO OTHER diamonds I am considering purchasing.

I don't know if they are any good or which one to ultimately choose ... so any advice would be much appreciated :)) As you can probably tell I don't have a huge budget but would still like to purchase a beautiful diamond!

PLEASE, please, please Any help would be much appreciated !! :)

Thank you!
Enisa

Hi enisa,

Unfortunately you can not buy fancy cut stones like cushions by the numbers. You have to have up close pictures and images like
ASETs to tell how well they are returning light. Those links you posted only have sample picures.

You could try searching at James Allen where they have actual images of stones.

Here are some JA examples

What is your budget? If you move the selector to "signature ideal" you get video of the diamond... BN has a .77 and then jumps to 1.0 (if the au site shows the same diamonds)

Thank you both so much for your feedback.

My budget is $4000 for the diamond.

I've realised that the blue Nile website provides a GCAL report on their signature rings. Are they useful? If so, what do I need to look for in the report?
Or what do I need to look for in a ASET report?

Just looking at the images/videos I find confusing as they diamonds all start to look the same..

Again, any advice would be much appreciated :)

Take a look at this thread by Charmypoo...the whole first section is about different cushion cuts. That way you can find
the faceting pattern that you like and know what to look for (and can tell us what to help you look for). There are quite
a few different cuts and it can get overwhelming unless you narrow down what you like.

I'll go check out James Allen and see what they have in your price range/specs. Do you want square or rectangular or either?
Color? Eye-clean...right?

Thanks tyty333 :)

WOW! I didn't realize that there was so many different types I totally got overwhelmed!

I'm just going to go with the most popular of the lot - the Modern Cushions Brilliants - "4 Main Cushions are the most popular type of modern cushion brilliants".

I am after a square please :)
