So I recently purchased an amazing ring from WF and had it imported into the UK via FedEx.
Has anyone ever tried claiming back the US sales tax?

Part 2 of this question which tests your knowledge on international taxation regulation:

I''m only staying in the UK with the ring for three months, then moving to Canada. Can I claim back the VAT when I leave the UK?

if you bought while in the US, from a store, and you paid the local sales tax - then yes you may be able to claim the tax back...

but since you bought online, and had the diamond shipped to you, direct to the UK, then you wouldnt have paid sales tax in the first place.

as to claiming back the VAT after 3months... then problay not, not with Gordon "grubby" Brown in office. But it might be worth a call the HM Customs.
