Hi everyone,
I'm new here (only my second post) but I loooove reading all the posts on this wonderful forum each day. You all have tought me so much about diamonds. I can't thank you all enough!!
After my boyfriend and I decided that we are ready to get engaged sometime later this year, he told me that he would like me to help pick out my engagement ring (both the diamond and the setting) because he feels I should be absolutely happy with it if I am going to wear it forever...and he knows I'm pretty particular.
I searched high and low...every jewelry store within a 100 miles and all over the net. He decided to purchase a AGS0 1.00 F SI1 loose round brilliant diamond from Good Old Gold (no one else we looked could touch the quality for the price). My honey was nervous about purchasing something so expensive online without laying his eyes on it in person, but he said that Jon and everyone at GOG were wonderful...honest, patient & very informative, and put him at ease. He received it on Jan 24th. He let me see it to "approve" or not. I looooooooooove it. It's beautiful. He thinks I'm a goober because I had tears in my eyes when I first saw it (in the holder).
He told me last night that he has ordered the setting from Signed Pieces. Again, I/we search high and low and fell in love with their Facets Duo matching eternity engagement ring and wedding band. Each ring is about 1 ct total set in platinum. My honey said Isaac is great and he even talked to him about using all F's and Ideal cuts and he said that'd be ok. WOW!
He probably won't be proposing until later this summer or early fall. I'm content beig a girlfriend and am not in a big rush. But just knowing that I will some day be lucky enough to wear a beautiful diamond from GOG and a gorgeous setting from SP that the man I love helped pick out, makes me so happy. I feel completely spoiled by my boyfriend. I never imagined I would have such a nice wedding set and he never imagined he would buy something with that much total carrot weight...we didn't set out to (we joke about it).
