I noticed on Tuesday that the vision in my right eye was blurry with distances. It came on all of a sudden along with a mild barely there headache. It was still bothering me on Wednesday and seemed to be getting worse. I made an appointment with an ophthalmologist. After three hours of testing they have given me a diagnosis of "papilledema". I only have it on one side which has me fearing the worse, some kind of tumor. I've had a nuerofibromatosis tumor removed from my knee when I was a teenager and I'm so scared I have something similar on my optic nerve. I've never faced anything this scary before. Whew. I'm seeing neurology today so wish me luck and happy non-tumor thoughts!

Sending you lots of good luck and positive vibes - hope your appointment goes well - be brave if you can but it's okay to be scared/worried - I'll be looking for your update later

I'm so sorry to hear this - a potential health crisis can be so darn scary :( Wishing you LOTS of positive thoughts/vibes/prayers and hoping that your appointment goes well. Please keep us posted!

Lots of dust...hoping it's nothing serious.

I had the very same issue and diagnosis in October of 2011. Much worry and many tests followed. Result was labelled a "pseudo tumor". Pretty much means that I had no tumor and no cause could be found. Was recommended that I lose weight and work on my overall health. I lost 102 lbs. in 2012. Good news is that I have had very regular visits with my ophthalmologist since and my vision has never worsened. Bad news is that I never regained the vision I lost. It was a very scary time but I am thankful that it was not found to be an indication of a very serious health issue. Best of luck to you.
