Hi everyone, I''ve been lurking for a few days, but now I''m ready to ask a question.
My fiance and I recently went and bought my engagement diamond (before I found PS). I wanted a Radiant. I''d compared them on bluenile and even sent some comparison stats to the gemologist. She said she could get me the same price or less for those decent stones.
Here is my question. After we purchased it, I got a terrible feeling I''d made a mistake (but this could just be me terrified of spending 2,749.00 in one day).
This is the diamond EGL report that came with the diamond:
weight: .72 Cts
Shape and cut: Radiant
Measurements: 5.69 - 4.58 x 3.30 mm
Depth: 72.1%
Table width: 71%
Crown height: 9%
Pavilion depth: 59%
Girdle thickness: Medium, Faceted
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Cutlet: None
Clarity: SI1
Graining: Nil
Color: G
Fluorescence: None
The price was including a palladium 4 prong basket setting. I fell in love with the radiant shape when I browsed the website radiantcut.com. However, I didn''t receive a Certificate that accompanies every Original Radiant Cut Diamond weighing over .70. Unless I wasn''t supposed to? I''m confused. I know you guys frown upon EGL (I wish I''d known).
Did we do wrong?
