Helloooooo Chicago! I'm here for the next couple of days for a conference. I was wondering if anyone wanted to grab brunch? I leave Sunday noon. Yikes!

Sunday you need to go to the airport about 10 am if your flight is at noon, but I'm also happy to do an early breakfast if you want. Can't have you leaving the windy city hungry!

I am! Is that Jeweler's Row where MDZ is at? I'm also at the McCormick from day to night but I'm going to try and look at what I've got planned and see if there are any sessions I wouldn't mind skipping . If you recognize my ring, say hello! I've got my tranny on me here.. locked up the e-ring with FI since I'm not very clear on what sections of Chicago are safe and what sections aren't.

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like I'll be NEAR jewelers row tonight, and DZ closes at 7, so I'm going to skip the last oral seminar that I was going to attend. It's not really something that piques my interest anywho.

Any other jewelers in that area that I should go see?

And you're absolutely right that the lighting is fantastic here. My own ring was stealing my attention last night! And there are soooo many gorgeous rings on other attendees. I'm trying to not be obvious heh.

I love Stan Perkins at M. Martin Jewelers. They are on the 21st floor of 5 S. Wabash... But I think they are by appointment only. They don't have a showcase out, but they have lots of lovelies in-house to show. I can't imagine they're open that late. M. Martin's website is awful, but they have beautiful diamonds. And a great trade-up policy I'm hoping to take advantage of for an upcoming anniversary. my ering, anniversary band, studs, and mother's ring are all from them. And a deco repro band.... And probably others I'm forgetting! There is a little area right next door on street level (south) that is fun to walk around and try things on. Many different vendors all together in one spot. Not sure about their quality, though. I have a couple of pieces from those vendors from early on in my collector years... Very pretty, just not sure if they are PS standards. But M. Martin definitely is!

I am wanting a DZ stacker (that baby bezel would look so at home with my stack!). Have fun, I am thinking about diamonds instead of dysphagia now, hah!

Kristin- I ended up not going. I called Illya and he said he only makes appointments by pulling out items that you're interested in-- and that he doesn't have a show room. Honestly, the only item I'm seeking now is an antique engraved platinum band to wear as a spacer between my wedding band and e-ring, so I didn't go. I was hoping to just play like I usually do at jewelers'.

Rosebloom- I'm sorry I missed you! It was so last minute, I'm sorry. I just didn't know my schedule until Wednesday! I *will* be back though just maybe not in the winter time... Those tornados had me at the airport for 9.5 hours!!! Yuck! I didn't get to complete my tourism there so I *will* be back. I'm upset missed the Willis Tower, but I'm more upset that I missed Mindy's Hot Chocolate haha!


Deejay- thank you again for dinner and for coming out on such a short notice to keep me company. I didn't realize til way later that we didn't take a photo together! you, CB, and your bling were definitely a memorable part of my trip If you ever come out here, I'll take you to sushi!!
