If it were you, which would you pick?

If you had to choose between a 1.346 G SI1 (No visible inclusions from any angle, any distance-believe me, I tried finding them!) or a 1.55 I VS2 with SBF (no negative effects(, which one would you pick?

Both:
-Super Ideal cuts
-Great upgrade policy
-Same price

The 1.55 I VS2. The SBF is a big bonus to an I color stone!

For an engagement ring for your partner, without her input? The G.
For anything other than an E-ring or significant RHR? The I.
For myself? The I in both cases.

It's not for a partner. :) It's my own engagement ring, and I have the G right now but am considering changing to the I. I'm just worried I will see too much of a tint. Looking at a zillion pictures, it's not so much seeing yellow; the lower colors just seem darker. I wanted flour when I got the G, but it didn't work out. I'm hoping that it will help the color out, and I still get the SBF. I had an E before this, and I can see quite a difference in the G, but I like it better.

My, it sounds like I have commitment problems...

Thanks,
Jessica

I would probably get the slightly smaller G because there is not much difference between 1.3 and 1.5ct in visible size when set.

Actually I would look for a much much larger J SI2 with an "honest" prongable inclusion!

+1. This would be my vote as well. I'd prefer the larger diamond and one w fluoro.

I will add that I went with a pricescope friend to upgrade a diamond locally several months ago, and she got a 1.7 ct. I color stone with blue fluorescence. They were comparing it to an H stone and I honestly and truly could not tell them apart. In other I color stones, I can clearly see the tint. Of course, I cannot speak to the particular stone you are considering, but I was impressed with that I color with fluoro and it was acceptable to me, personally, and I am pretty picky about color.

I have a picture of a 1.37 and a 1.63, so maybe that would give you an idea of the size difference. (too big! I will try to reduce the size)

Trying that again..

diamondseeker2006, thanks! Those pics are a big help. I'm not so much upgrading for size, but for the fluorescence. Or is that considered downgrading? :) Size is just a bonus. I know, who does that? I love it though. My hands are fairly small, maybe not in PS standards, but regular people ones  . I can wear a 5, but I like them big, so they are sized larger than that. Ahhh! I can't wait until I can go see it in person!

 It would have to have fluorescence though! That's the whole reason for looking at a new one. I have to say, I am afraid of J's though...

The I, hands down.

Well I have old hands, but if you want to see what a 1.58 (G VS1 with SBF) looks like on a size 5.5 finger.....

1. You do not have "old" hands
2. I want your nails
3. That diamond looks HUGE!
4. The stone itself is stunning! It's like it glows from within!!
5. Thanks for all your help :)

I just went from F to I for size so I'll have to vote for the I!

It's for sale! :naughty:

I would choose the I as well. Or I would follow Dreamers advice. I was afraid of J's too until I actually owned one, but they truly are something that you have to be comfortable with. Can't wait to hear your thoughts after seeing the stone. :))
