I am kind of loving these two! But I think it would bug me that it wasn't symmetrical lol.You could also contrast with peach or pink gemstones to make something more arty or modern. Maybe a rosecut in peach or pink like this with your blue diamond off to the side?
Or use a white diamond fancy shape and make the setting half yellow and half blue. Using small melee that are a different shade to contrast without competing. I'm thinking pale peachy yellow for the small stones and a champagne rose cut.

I can't do pinky rings- my pinky is shaped like a cone and rings never stay on! lolI'm always a fan of making smaller stoned rings like that into pinky rings. The pinky never gets any love.

I saw this on DK's instagram and thought of you! I am sure that it could be made into a ring and different "halo" stones if you prefer.
How about something like what MTHealthyLiving did with her yogo sapphire a few months back?
Wow! That is gorgeous. I've never seen that degree of open work from DK. Hubba hubba.https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj-IrJgFz05/?taken-by=davidklassjewelry

I am usually a solitaire girl all the way, I feel like adding stones around it would enhance the itty bitty stoneI thought about suggesting this type of setting, but I wasn’t sure if you’d want to add more stones. I love them.
I hadn’t even thought about thatThe trick with the floral design will be that for a 2.2 mm stone, you only have 6.9 mm circumference to work with. What about something with a double halo to give you more circumfrence to work with?
