hi!
I would like to buy Ideal scope
however which one should I buy???

Expert Model ? or Beginner Scope ?
also do I need to get the Ideal Light ?

I don''t think I use it too often
as I already have E-ring. but I want to use it for some casual fashion jewlery.( not expensive stuff)
just to make sure if it''s sparkle or not.

thanks

The beginner model works well for most.

The key difference is in the optics. The Expert modell has a 10X triplex lens (essentially a loupe qulity lense).

I personally prefer the 10X expert model, however there are people who prefer the 6X begineers.

I feel that the light table is almost a must if you are going to use the idealscope in jewelry stores. This gives a place to hold the store diamonds, and most store clearks were comfortable with putting their diamonds into the holding holes of the light table. This also provides consistent light - which can be harder to find than you think without it.

If you are going to be looking at rings you will need a tweezer to hold the ring. Also, I found that some stores seem to not have a good tweezer for you to use, nor do they have a good loupe either (not 10x).

I personally purchased not only the expert model Idealscope and light table, but the tweezer set and loupe as well. To me this has been well worth it.

Perry,

Thanks for the post with great info.

One question...
Is it actually easy to use the Idealscope with mounted stones?
I guess alot really depends on how the stone is set but in your experience using it... were you able to get a good gauge of the diamond's light leakage and light return, etc when using the Idealscope with mounted stones?
