Hi there,
I was going over the AGA cut table and for emerald diamonds they recommend a Table % of 60-65.5 (among other things of course)
What surprises me is that Blue Nile''s "Ideal signature" label applies to diamonds that have a value outside of that table% range (usually between 65-69)?? In addition, any l/w ratio outside of 1.3-1.4 does not get their "ideal signature" label either (they describe that range as being ideal in their "educational" part), though it is generally accepted (?) that it is more a matter of preference (i.e. between 1.3-1.75).
Does this mean that I would be better off getting a "very good" cut for a diamond outside of that l/w range (I am looking at 1.4-1.55) with Table and Depth values that correspond to the "ideal cut" ranges from AGA?
Thanks,
S.
