@icy_jade, would you kindly explain what is princess style? Love your bangles. The black one is very cool looking.

This is helpful I think

CCA49704-895B-45BC-90B2-9EC6DD419380.jpeg

Princess = round
D = flat = inner bevelled in the pic above

Personally I prefer thin round bangles as I find them most comfy to wear

Mind blowing!!! I didn’t know you can do that kind of setting for rings. Ring and pendant!!! I need to show my mom

Good when you like to have more options

Round is traditional. D is supposedly more modern but I still prefer round.

Posting another new to me pendant...

477D1E58-A560-46B1-A172-39BD1FAE91B0.jpeg 3D3230DD-2049-44FE-80B5-55772D17DF41.jpeg 5B68C69A-5844-44D2-91E1-91625F210B54.jpeg

Is a convertible that can be worn 3 ways with a 9.06 ct amethyst and for the second part with some diamond, pink sapphire, pink tourmaline, garnet, amethyst. And the 50 cm chain can be length adjusted too. Last pic shows the 2 separate parts.

Am also wearing a light lavender jadeite bangle (color is darker in pic) and spinel ring today.

Thank you. I really love convertible jewelry too. I strongly felt the urge to buy this pendant after I realized that it’s a convertible =)2

held back on getting an emerald cab recently. Was quite smitten but my honest jeweller reminded me about how fragile emeralds can be and that I cannot wear frequently etc. So didnt buy in the end but I really like that particular shade of bluish-green. Pictured with some other jadeite and tsavorites in some of the pics, along with Mahenge spinels.

slightly over 6 carats. So pretty irl. Sigh.

4 to 6 probably. It’s rather sad to admit but I’m past the age where I can wear dainty rings. Plus not the right size/build for dainty rings either.

Like in the pics above, I feel like the 6 ct emerald is a good size you know? And I could probably go bigger.

Yeah it’s a really lovely shade of green-blue. My pics don’t do justice to the stone. So pretty when it glows. Sigh.

The emerald is gorgeous <3 I'm starting to really appreciate emeralds these days...bad news for my wallet LOL

What about 6.58ct? EKA Gems posted this ring on their WeChat, I think it looks quite nice:

Haha Eka is probably above budget. I’ll slowly look around no worries. I think for a stone like that, I will definitely need to see in person before deciding to buy. But thanks for helping to look. And that is some gorgeous eye candy. So so beautiful.

EKA has some really attention stealing bling...but also comes with the appropriate pricetag (sadly) :cry2: They posted this gorgeous 3.5 unoiled and loupe clean emerald once...except it was USD73500! I Anyways, can't wait to see what you'll pick up down the road! Do you think you'll set it as a ring or something else?

I tend to just admire Eka stuff, and imagine who are the crazy rich Asians who can afford her bling lol.

Probably a ring. Or a convertible ring/pendant since I like convertible jewellery. And I’ll look at re-setting some other older stones and switch stuff up. Like et toi moi for some older stones etc.

But gold is so expensive now so I’ll wait a bit.

@Rad_Fan here are freshly taken pics of the wonky blue sapphire :)

pictured with my other 5 ct sapphire and a mahenge spinel that I’m considering to do an et toi moi ring with.

Anyone think they look strange together/too unmatchy for et toi moi? Honest feedback appreciated! :)

My initial instincts say no but I think it's mainly because I don't have a vision for it.

If only there was a mock up!

Maybe something like this? But with plain diamonds?

Hmm...just throwing some random design inspo out there for the sapphire toi et moi ring:

Maybe a more updated version?

I love the colors together for a toi et moi, but I hesitate because the Mahenge spinel looks more elongated, so I don't know how much difference there'd be in size and shape! I love that unheated sapphire! I think the color is a tad better than the 5 ct sapphire.

Thanks! Both are 3 ct stones so I’m restricted to the not so delicate designs :)

Dunno still thinking if the stones are good together to be honest

Thanks! I love the color together too. I tried blue with green, green with pink, etc and still think pink and blue looks best together.

Think the diff isn’t that big?
Spinel: 9.66 x 7.06
Sapphire: 9.34 x 7.66

Suspect is because the sapphire is a bit rounder/less elongated plus stone angles that’s why in the photo the spinel looks much longer.

Color wise actually don’t think the 3 ct is better irl. Strange it looks that way in the pics.

Yeah, the two stones aren't that much different in terms of measurement. I'd go for it then, as the colors would look gorgeous together, and you already have the 5 ct sapphire for a solo ring.

It's strange, but smartphone cameras always makes blue gems look more saturated than they are irl. My sapphires and paraibas included.

Haha actually it’s mostly because I got another Mahenge spinel so I figured I won’t wear the current spinel much once that one is set. And getting something different that I don’t have is good ie et toi moi. And this sapphire just came along at the right price and size :)

I actually feel ok about having multiple blue sapphires - not sure why too but perhaps cos I like the color blue more

A girl can never have too many blue sapphires! :lol-2:

I think the two stones will work well as a moi et toi, but wonder if together they might be a tad too big for your finger? They occupy a lot a finger space in your photo, the design will be key.

Thank you! I was lucky to snag the ring during Kathy Jade’s recent sale. Hard to resist glowy jadeite cabs.

My personal fav of the 3 is the opal. Quite fun to wear and see how it changes with the light.

Thank you!

It’s a readymade setting that I got last year without knowing what to set with. Completely going against the usual advice of getting the stone first but I just loved the setting at first sight.
