This photo was taken during the eye of Hurricane Ike last year. My SIL snapped this as soon as she and my DB looked out their back window during the calm.

I kinda have a thing for flowers (lol)

These are monte negro Lilies. They had a hard time last year because of all the rain (they were super stunted in growth!) But they are extremely bright bright red. I'm hoping to get more if they aren't too expensive for next season.

GREAT THREAD! I, too, LOVE the diversity of all the different photos!

This is a picture of Kinkakuji (the Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto, Japan; taken by me when DH and I were there several years ago.

I love how the temple and the trees are perfectly reflected in the still water.

Lynn, I have like 20 pictures of Kinkaku-ji but yours is SO much better! I love it!

Oh my goodness, Vip0802!!!! Gorgeous, gorgeous pics!!! I''ve been looking into those Ego lamps, but haven''t pulled the trigger yet. I get massive hot spots with little spots I use now, so a set of those could help tame it.

Do you submit to foodbuzz or tastespotting or anything?

awww, thank you! i totally understand the hot spots you can get, which is why i got the Ego lights. they definitely make a brighter and more color-accurate photo IMHO...i say go for it if you can!

i haven''t really submitted my photos anywhere except for my Flickr account, and here. i''m going to check out those sites though, so maybe i''ll post some there. got any more food photos??

Oh my gosh, as pretty as that is, it looks scary!

Everyone''s photos are great!!

I have to play, because we just bought a Nikon D90 and it came in the mail today. The sun was down, hubby didn''t want to play model for me, so I got creative with a few of my favorite things.

Yes, it was! I''m not sure how anyone would ever get to it in winter(I took the photo zoomed hard in at 7000 ft, so I''m guessing it was at LEAST 5000 ft above sea level), but I believe during summer people hike around there so maybe it''s accessible then?

Fun thread
