i only have usd1k budget

Hi Sunshine,

These are probably fine but as we're all about the cut quality here for the most part, we have no idea how well these are cut, plus I don't think they have lab reports and it states these stones are F -G colour and VS clarity, I take it an in house gemologist would have graded these.

It depends on what you want, we could help you find some stones for the budget and you might be able to go slightly larger and have diamonds with lab reports, or you can order them and see what you think.

If you go for these, I'd ask one of their gemologists to pick out the best looking pair for you and see if they can send you a photo.

Also ask if those earrings have a trade-up policy in case you want to go bigger in the future (if that's important to you).

Certified stones will have a trade-up policy (you will have to spend 2x to upgrade).

If you wanted certed stones...
4 prong settings are $150

Possible stones - clarity wise these both look fine but you need to ask for a gemologist to evaluate them. "J" will usually face up fairly
white in a well cut stone...you tend to see the tint from the side. We could probably go higher in color (I) but the stones will be .25ish.
Or, we can drop down to "K" color and get cleaner stones.

Here is an earring thread for you to look through. Doesnt look like they are using ctw "carat total weight" consistently. Sometimes they
give the weight of 1 earring alone and sometime they give the ctw for both stones but they are not marking it consistently so watch out
for that.

One more thing...at this carat weight every point counts!

I like the stones tyty333 posted above. And it looks like JA settings are on sale as well. For a ring I would be wary of I-1 but I would do them for studs cause how hard are you gonna knock around your head. LOL Since they would be upgradable, perhaps in future, you'll have the flexibility to do that.

ooops..sorry, didn't realize tyty333 had already posted the link to the martini settings.

There's this one as well if you don't mind pre-owned. She hasn't marked them sold so they might still be available.

Hi Sunshine, thought I'd chime in here. I have a pair of James Allen presets like the ones you posted, but in H-I SI. They are somewhere in the show me the studs-thread if you want to see them. The presets are not handpicked, not certified and, as far as I understand, not upgradeable. My studs are well cut I think, at least they sparkle - even if I can't tell whether they are very well or excellent cut. They are clearly not H&A. At the time I decided that I wanted studs this size and this was what I then could afford also considering the fact that I am overseas.( This was also before BGD had smaller certed stones. ) The important thing is that you make an informed choice and decide what is important to you. There are always tradeoffs. In hindsight I think it is worth considering that DSS sets in, even if it might seem improbable today, so having an upgrade option is a factor to consider. But, I wear my studs daily and although I would love (bigger!) superideal diamonds I can' t say that I've regretted my purchase either. Good luck with your decision!
