Best engagement ring value out there? Like halo style rings but open to suggestions. Under $3500 would be great.

Open to preloved?
Diamond or colored stone?
Shape of center stone preference?
Modern or antique vibe?

Hi @Kevin Lowrey :wavey:

Have you taken a look at halo settings at James Allen or BlueNile? Perhaps you can find the setting you like (back out the cost) and then we
know how much you have left for the stone.

JA is running 25% off their settings right now

Something like this

That chews up a good chunk of your budget. Leaves about $1700 for the stone. You ok with that?

Just to make sure...did your GF show you a halo like this? This would be considered a fairly large halo (halo stones are large compared to the
size of the main stone).

This will probably leave you in the .7 ish range (or lower depending on color).

This is a great deal on a halo. There are some people here who could find you a diamond within budget if this size is close.

A lab grown center diamond would save you about 40% or allow you to buy a much larger stone or an even nicer setting. Visually there is no difference between lab grown and mined diamonds. Lab diamonds are diamonds. But you would want to find out if the person you are buying the ring for is OK with that. If yes, there is a whole section of this web site devoted to lab grown diamonds. If not, there are plenty of folks here who can help you find a mined diamond. You could also potentially save a lot by buying a vintage diamond/engagement ring.

Grace at jewels by grace is having her thanksgiving sale ! She has lovely rings.

Just to mention that the pave stones used by James Allen are F-G coloured so if you're considering a white metal on top of that, careful not to go lower than J/K, particularly if colour sensitive.

Lots of great info thanks.

Let us know if you want diamond recommendations from James Allen (or anywhere else). It's best to get your stone and setting at the same place.

+1 to lab diamond, if your girlfriend is open to a lab diamond. You could look at Lightbox for stones, they have 1ct cushions, princess cuts, and baguettes. Round diamonds are less than 1ct. If you send to James Allen, they can mount for $100 (I think) if you buy the setting from them (they are running 25% off promo on settings).
