Sorry, this ring looks too chunky and masculine to me. I prefer the band to be 1/2 to 1/3 the width. This way, the center stone will appear bigger and get all the attention. Another problem I have with the style is that the sidestone diamonds, being various shapes, do not seem to go harmoniously.

If I want extra bling (more diamonds), I shall have diamonds all the way aroung the band, and pair the e-ring with a diamond eternity band.
ditto.

My wedding set is actually three rings soldered together, but it gives a similar appearance to the ring you posted.
I can tell you that so many diamonds under and around the center stone does take away from the size and the appearance of the center stone. I''m looking forward to resetting mine to something less busy looking. And I don''t want to hurt your feelings if you have your heart set on that mounting, but it does look like something that was in style in the early ''90s when my husband and I got engaged. The pictures that our ladies posted are all current styles. Maybe one of those will call out to you.

I have to agree with most of the ladies who posted before me: the triple rows of bling on the band detract from the beauty of the center stone and will definitely make it look smaller.

The suggestions posted by the other ladies all have a similar feel to the ring you posted, while being more modern and highlighting the beautiful center stone. Hopefully something they''ve suggested catches your eye!

I agree it''s too much setting for an ering for my taste personally.

I have to agree with the other ladies on here along the lines of it''s too busy and not- so- delicate looking. I''d also like to throw a vote towards the split shank setting that was mentioned- but I am a little biased, seeing as I just got engaged a little over a week ago (also in Chicago

) with a split shank setting/ asscher combo.

BTW- for ladies who''ve been asking for more pics - I promise to get some in soon- unfortunately, after all the commotion/ chaos of that wonderful weekend, I got really sick and am currently typing in bed under an avalanche of blankets

OT Thread jack: Camille, tell us about the ring in your avatar! Yum!

YES!!!
Camille, I spent a loooong time in the middle of the night last week trying to find a thread for your ring. 40 pages of posts by you and not one thread devoted to that delectable piece. How can that be???

(And wow, you are really into cupcakes!)

...then I slept on it and forgot.

PLEASE tell us more about your ring. I really hope you see this!

(Sorry to threadjack, ChicagoJoe!)

I actually love it! I think it is unique, and with that size of a center stone, I don''t think you need to worry about taking away from the stone. I tend to like things with a little touch of uniqueness. I also like wide sets. Does she have long fingers?
