Hello, I need at least a 1 carat cushion cut. Preferably more square shaped. My budget is 5k max, but I would like to keep the diamond under 4.5k if possible. Also, I would like it to be white or colorless, and eye clean. I was thinking something G-I and VS2-SI1. Send me links with the best deals. I have looked in retail stores and everything is so much more expensive than online. Please and thank you in advance.

What style of cushion cut ,GHI colourless? I don't think so …

I have a 'K' GOG stone and to me, it's colorless, granted it's in pendant.. but even turning it sideways I can't see much tint.. I love the stone. Good luck..

No, you request it and it takes a few days.

I have yet to receive the ASET reports from JA. Here are my three favorite diamonds I have actually seen in person. Let me know what everyone thinks.

#1. Price is $3290. This is the first one and my favorite so far. My main concern is the table % being so high. Is this a concern? This diamond looks a lot bigger than the other ones I have seen, and definitely has a lot of fire and brilliance in and out of direct sunlight.

#2. Price is $3780. Unfortunately, when I took this one outside to see it...the sun went away. It did still have a fair amount of brilliance without direct sunlight. I am going to see this one again tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be perfect.

#3. Price is $3910. This one definitely had the most fire and brilliance to me. I almost expected there to be fluorescence, and was pretty shocked to not see any. My only issue with this one is it looks the smallest face up, and I can definitely spot inclusions easily with a loupe.

Hopefully, I will receive my ASET on the JA diamonds tomorrow, which I will post for everyone to see.

Sorry for the two sideways pictures. I am not sure why this website likes to rotate them after uploaded.

I would email Chris at ERD. My fiancee and I looked there at squared cushions within the same budget, and he found such great options for us, which were worlds nicer than what we had seen elsewhere, for less money. Worth a shot!

What is his/her email, and I am not familiar with ERD.

EDIT: I found the information. Thanks.

I think you are more size focused than I realized. You posted two obviously rectangular ones and said the one square one is too small. you also posted SI2s when you originally wanted SI1+

Anyway, 6% crown height is very low. That kind of cushion can be quite bright, though.

Yes. These are just my favorites that I saw in person, and I do still prefer more squared and SI1+. Lets just say I prefer a l/w ratio of under 1.10.

So do you like crushed ice? The ones you posted just now are all crushed ice style. Or is that just what they had?

You should not be looking at EGL.

You say you don't want a GIA K. But with an EGL H or I that's exactly what you might be getting. That's why they are discounted.

Read here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/egl-certification-are-any-of-them-ok.142863/

Also those are all crushed ice cushions. And therefore not the more regularly sought after ones. Most people prefer non-crushed ice cushions.

Now here's a very nice stone for you;
http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/11056/ Great color. Great size. Great performance.
http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/11725/ Very lovely. Great size. Great color. Great performance. And performance is what makes a stone look as WHITE and as LARGE and as BRIGHT as possible.

A stone with great performance with edge to edge light return will look larger than a stone with larger dimensions but poor light return.

I highly suggest you explore these two stones. ESPECIALLY that I which is RIGHT at budget and is probably the BEST stone you will find for your budget in a modern cushion.'

Also i know you said you prefer squarer stones. But the truth is rectangular ones are more flattering on most hands. And they also tend to look larger.

ditto!

I am buying this one! http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/11056/
After talking with Lynda at GOG, and everyone on this site the decision could not have been any easier. I am now trying to figure out what setting to put it in. My girlfriend definitely wants a halo setting. I think it would be best to just get this one put on a simple solitaire, and let her pick out the halo setting after I propose. Every woman I have asked said that was a great idea. Thanks again for all the recommendations.

AWESOME CHOICE! Great job!

I would advise you to get a VERY inexpensive setting then, if you are going have her reset it.

Yes, I was thinking of the most inexpensive basic 14K white gold solitaire setting.

Update: I have proposed to my now fiancé! She said yes! Anyways, here is a picture of the engagement ring finally completed. The center stone is linked above. 1.01 GIA I VS1 in signature modern cushion (http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/11056/) from good old Gold. The setting is custom made from a local jeweler. 18k white gold with halo and side stones. The setting is .5 ct. Total. G-h color and vs1-vs2 clarity. Thank you to this forum for suggestions and research in this process. Here is one picture. Note in the pic the ring is a size 6.5. It is now resized to a 4.5. Me and my fiancé could not be happier. I will post better shots of the ring after our engagement pictures. We are going to have the photographer take a few shots of the ring :)
