I went window shopping with a friend yesterday and I thought she was going to take the poor cashier's head off because she wasn't going 30 miles a minute with wrapping up her gifts. Whatever happend to being polite. I apologized for her and I felt horrible.....and horrified by my friend!

I frequently feel the same at this time of year. I am usually very polite, but at this time of year, so much more so! The incivility and rude behavior of others always gets me down....

You're not the only one, SB, not by a long shot. I think I've pretty much given up on Christmas and I'm just looking forward to next Thursday when life gets back to normal and I don't have to think about Christmas again for roughly 335 days. I'm tired of the "season" starting November 1. I'm tired of the commercialism. I'm tired of the rudeness and lack of civility. I'm just tired. Not to mention all the extra family stress. /end vent

Re the Holiday madness - I tend to tune it out and focus on my own Holiday timetable... which means that I attended (and participated in) my first real Holiday concerts this weekend, and put in my first Holiday CDs just this morning.

It also means that I'm now dealing with that "Oh ****** there's only how many more days left?????" feeling today!

THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I think one of the best days of my life was signing over that last check. Perhaps I will feel that way again when I pay off our house. Regardless congrats VC!!!!!!!! That is huge!

Here's hoping I can be a little impractical for once and use at least some of what used to go into loans and stash it in a bling fund. (the rest of it will go to the mortgage and the car payment because not only am I incredibly practical, but DH might even be more so)

After two and a half years SO's cancer is no longer responding to aromatase therapy. The cancer is growing and spreading. Last week she stopped taking letrazole and tomorrow morning enters a clinical study. PrE0102 will be a double blind study. All participants will get fulvestrant. Randomly selected, some will also get everolimus too, while others a placebo. It is a little overwhelming.

PSA: If you are a post menopausal woman with back pain that is not conclusively diagnosed, or that you cannot ascribe to a specific injury, go to the doctor and make them check for breast cancer.
