Current temp: 17.6! :blackeye: School has already been cancelled for tomorrow and it looks like Friday will be as well! I can't wait to trade in, winter coats, boots, and snow shovels for bug spray, sunscreen and air conditioning!
and some people believe in global warming...

It is a beautiful day today. I work in the I.E. and it reached 84 F at lunch today.

What does I.E. mean?

Inland Empire aka Riverside County

Thanks.
PS reaches a pretty big world to expect everyone to know what I.E. stands for.
Riverside County people can google, if it's the only one.

Lovely Lemons. It was 65° F most of the day. Now with passing clouds, falling to possible 54° tonight :errrr:

It's a pretty normal Perth summer - warm, sunny, zero humidity, easterly in the morning, westerly in the arvo, and wickedly high UV ratings. I even changed the units to F for y'all. :))

 ...not me!!

More stormy and wet weather for the next few days in UK.

DK :((

Kenny, you're killing me!

We had our 1st big snow in 10 yrs, about 6". Big fluffy flakes most of the day; it was beautiful. My Siberian has rarely seen snow & never more than an inch -- today she went nuts! Peeped & moaned to go out 5 minutes after coming in -- amazing how DNA kicks in with the right stimulus.

Tomorrow is the bad news. Sleet & freezing rain from now till tomorrow night, plus high winds. Recipe for a power outage. The last one went on for 5 days. This aft we filled bathtubs, washing machine & buckets w/water, and on the kitchen counter sits a motley collection of pots, jugs & jars of drinking water -- store was sold out of the bottled variety. I hope we won't need it.

Bed w/warm blanket in the garage for our feral kitty, though she's been too busy playing in the snow to use it. This pic was a few wks ago.

ETA: Can't BELIEVE your lemons!! Lemon pie! :cheeky: How do you get such abundance from your fruit trees? Magic!

Cute kitty, JewelFreak!

I'm in SoCal, too, it was 82 when I left school this afternoon. Love it, but I also worry about the drought. We had 30,000(?) acres of our town burn last spring, (no homes or structures, thank goodness) and each day the drought continues, the fire danger grows.

ForteKitty, I've never seen such large lemons. That's just one big WOW. We have figs, plums and tangerines. Though tasty, clearly, we are doing something wrong, they are just 'normal' sizes.

“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” ― John Steinbeck

Great quote from a native Californian!

Woke up to 0 degrees F, high of 20 today, nor'easter slamming up the coast tomorrow afternoon - I love Maine! Will likely have our 5th school day cancellation of the year on Friday, I'll be out cross-country skiing. Couldn't care less about lemons!

I'm in Maine too Maria! Enjoy your snow day! Portland and surrounding areas have already canceled for tomorrow afternoon and I'm guessing no school Friday either. Nice long winter vacation for DS!

Forekitty, those are some gorgeous lemons! We have a tree, a pink lemon tree, that has never produced a thing! Just found out I should be fertilizing the thing. It is an understatement to say my thumb is not even a little green! How often do you give it coffee grounds? I think I could handle that.

I loved the weather today but I am afraid for summer! I hope we get some more rain and avoid some of the drought problems.

Are you implying that, people vary?

Well then, please do that outside; you'll stink up the house.

I'm not looking forward to the disgusting streets and never-moving busses and closed subway stations in New York :blackeye: Now I understand why my brother-in-law moved to the OC area from Denver.

I hope we get a lot more rain before summer! We have a small compost bin under the sink and I'm too lazy to walk out unless I'm emptying the small compost bin into the large one in the yard. So, maybe once a week? There are only two of us so we don't generate a lot of food waste that's usable in the compost bins. You can look into worm "tea" or worm waste at your nursery. The one near my house sell them by the jugs. They're great fertilizers!

FK, your lemons are beautiful!! Seems like quite a harvest for very little work - wow! I am very impressed!

Of course, even if they had not suspended alternate sides parking today I would not have moved the car.

I am in the North West of the UK. Horrendous flooding, huge storm last night of 100mph winds, power lines down all over the place, public transport canceled up & down the county, motorways closed & fire breaking out at some downed power lines. And a man was also killed last night when a tree fell onto a power line, snapped it & the cable fell on him & electrocuted the poor chap :o

I would LOVE to be in the LA heat right now!! I would be SO covered in sun lotion that i would be as slippery as an eel & as happy as a piggy in sh!t

Hmmm....I'd actually rather be on the other side of the country right now. Who wants to trade?

ETA: California btw.

Sunny with bright blue skies today in Seattle whilst there is more than 12 inches of snow so far at home in the NE, with total forecast expected at 18 inches. It's still snowing and I'm concerned about the potential of a power outage at home.

We have over a foot of snow here.

I'm in Reno (you know, where it should be cold and snowy) and it's 61 right now.

We had an early release day today, but school hasn't been cancelled (yet?) for tomorrow. Boo hoo, cross-country skiing may have to wait until Saturday. That's OK, I'll be happy working one less day in June when it will be sweet summer in Maine. I love all seasons!
