After 18 months of looking and changing size and looking and changing size and changing my mind but also learning so much along the way (and driving a few people nuts I’m sure)

I FINALLY FOUND MY DIAMOND!

Lesley and Brian at BGD have been wonderful to deal with so far! Honest, kind, responsive at all hours, sending multiple pics and videos in various lighting environments and incredibly supportive of helping me tick all the boxes in achieving superior cut, size and budget! If all goes to plan I’ll have it on my finger during the first week of July!

In the end I chose the 2.376 which I’m going to round up to 2.4 haha!

I can’t wait to see this fireball in real life!

Thanks to everyone for your advice and for putting up with me! Thanks also to Wink and Melissa at HPD for helping me along the way! We had some fun conversations, shared an uncertain time and you are both fantastic people! Thank you!

Congrats, Your stone have all my dream proportions in fact I would have recommended the HVS2 to my daughter's BF but the stone is over his budget. I was tempted to buy it for myself.

I never had any doubt in my mind you'd be happy with BGD. It's what I chose too, just mine is it's baby brother, lol.

I missed the later part of the thread, but you absolutely chose the right stone with even better cut proportions, so you saved some money AND it'll be a better performer despite the slightly smaller size. Congrat!

Dimensionally it was about 1/196th of an inch difference in size. Nothing detectable to the human eye. IMO, the wisest thing she could have done to save $6k.

The stone proportions is more optimal, so it's a better buy regardless of the stone size.

I’d had my eye on this one for a while and I really love everything about it! I can’t wrap my head around what it is going to look like on my hand because in the videos it is absolutely breathtaking!

One thing I will add about BGD is that their real environment videos and photos are the best! I don’t want to see how the stone performs in the best of conditions or set up in light boxes, I want to see it on a hand, in the street, in this light and that light so I commend them for running all over town to get pictures for me haha!

It’ll be set in their classic knife edge with a few modifications which if I need advice I’ll be back with cads before it’s finished!

@sledge you’ve got so much going on at the moment that I’d hate to take you away from that so I’ll just pocket my savings and put it towards a tennis bracelet

I’m sure you will love your stone. Their stones are absolutely gorgeous. When I bought my J colored BGB almost 2 years ago, I thought I would be upgrading quickly because the J color was a little tinted for me. I also had them send it to me loose to look at it, and that may have been a mistake on my part. But once it was set, and I’ve been wearing it, I rarely notice the color at all. All I notice is the sparkle and fire from my stone. I’m sure your stone will be equally beautiful, if not even more beautiful since everyone was remarking about the proportions of your stone. My stones specs are a little outside the preferred PS specs, and it’s still it’s gorgeous. So, the point of this long winded post is this, I’m sure you will just love your diamond!
