I've been busy though between my star sapphire ring, setting my opposed tourmaline (finally), and exploring the oec world. I'm going to have to go cold turkey until the New Years!
 
I don't blame you for picking up that tsavorite, MTG! What a gorgeous shade of green-- I was REALLY tempted to get it. :twirl:

Weren't you looking for a bright red stone? He sent me two on spec and I have to send one back. I believe its a rhodolite but bright red. It is amazing in its pure, deep color when not in direct light, and its shower of sparks and flashes it shows off when in the light. :love: I joked to him that it reminds me of a disco ball. Anyway, he sent me two, and I've chosen to keep the smaller one. This one is 9.7mm and will probably be sent back tomorrow. It'd make a great birthday present to yourself... :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
 
gorgeous tsav MTG-if it were a bit bigger you could've been racing me to the finish line ;)) Please post pics when it arrives, I dont recall seeing a tsav from Barry

I only have one other tsav. Its a supernova from Barry which I set in a two tones lotus. It is my favorite colored stone ring but it has also ruined me for many other green stones. I think I've returned five green gems in the past few months because they couldn't compare. I have high hopes for his one though!

Sorry babydoll. I don't think I can give this one up without seeing it. But I've returned a different tsav from Barry before so if I decide to return this one too I will definitely let you know!

Not sure whether they are the same one...
 
I bought the last one you returned to BB MTG. I'm incredibly happy you sent it back. It's one of my favorite stones. I named it the Green Goblin. :tongue:

Love this one too--deep forest green! Any plans for it yet?

MTG: It just goes to show why I would take tsavs in a heartbeat over emeralds - the green is purer, deeper, the stone reflects more light and has more sparkle, the cut (at least in Barry's) is superb...what's not to love? And I think I'm over my jones for more tsavs and then you have to post this pure color - Ackk! :errrr:

babydoll_mini: No, its not the same one on the website, these are two others he recently cut. I spent an hour trying to figure out how to post the pic from Barry last night and feel like an abject failure :? :cry: :? ;( Sorry, I'll send it back to him and you should probably contact him directly if you're interested...
 
I'm thinking of mybe making my first three stone ring. I just got a small 4mm oec diamond so I might try to find another to match. People have often remarked on how Barrys cutting reminded them of old euro cuts so it might be a good combo!

I LOVE the setting on your supernova! The focus is completely on the pure green. Is there a story or thread behind that setting?
