we decided to mutally pay for the ring, which is why my budget is a little bigger!!!

mutally, you mean 'mutually.'
Was that really necessary? You obviously knew what she meant, as did the rest of us. Sometimes keys stick, sometimes people just miss a letter, and sometimes, they do mispell. Pointing that out is rude.

Thanks for your input, Ellen.

Look at the tone of the whole post, it was said in jest . Cant you see that Dan was bending backwards trying to be helpful and to really put himself out to help and serve the OP.

But while we are at it, I will confess that my nails cause me to misspell all the time. Thats my excuse and Im sticking to it!!!!

Uh, no. He seriously corrected her. And then went on with a nice, helpful post.

Thanks for your input, Sharon.

You could always do an elongated cushion, if you like that look- and it would sparkle like crazy!

I personally like the look of diamonds everywhere- on the top, side and underneath in the gallery! Mainly because I want sparkles everywhere lol.

When it is time, I would do something like this:

Cushion halo

except I would have the 2 rows of diamonds on the band be split shank instead, and I would want diamonds on the 2 sides of the band as well!

So as you can see, some people think that may be tacky, I think it''d be gorgeous and everything I ever wanted.

Conclusion: You need to decide what style you''d love to look at for many years to come!

Hope that helped with another perspective

I want to emphasize that what looks good in photos may not look good on YOUR hand. So it is very important to try on many many diamond shapes and ring styles. Three stones look good on others, but not on me.
HUGE DITTO TO THIS!!!!!

THANKS 4 UR ADVICE!!!!!!!! I''LL LET YOU ALL KNOW WHEN I MAKE A CHOICE!

Yep. I agree too. I once saw a split shank setting and decided that's what I wanted but when I got it I soon realised that it wasn't for me. But hey, I got my ideal ring at the second time of trying

I don''t know if this has been discussed already, but have you thought about getting multiple pieces? Maybe a bracelet and a ring? I could do a lot of damage with that budget!

Ditto some of the others who have suggested a nice big RB. After having spent not a small amount of money on diamonds of different shapes and styles, I''ve found out that RB is the best (at least for me), in terms of maximum spread, sparkle, brilliance etc.

Have you considered contacting Brian Gavin Diamonds to ask them to help you look for a suitable stone? Their service is excellent and the stones are TDF!! (I know, i''ve just purchased my gorgeous earring studs from them!
