I got my EC! Need help with setting.

I finally got my EC and now I need to decide how to set her. She won't arrive for a few days and I plan on setting her in a Sholdt rose gold bezel.....should I go NS or EW?

She is .91 ct J IF. I chose this color diamond to go with the rose gold setting.

This ring is within my budget after all of my medical bills are considered.

I'm still going to send my gemstones and some rings to David if he has time to sell them for me.

Love that ring. I'd do e/w as I would want the diamond to protrude too far out from the shank.

This diamond is from James Allen and has a GIA cert.

I wonder if I can order the setting directly from Sholdt and have my local jeweler set the stone?

I doubt it. Bezel settings are built around the stone. You can contact the Sholdt workshop directly. You can also get a quote from Pearlman's. They work with Sholdt too. I've read that Pearlman's offer the most competitive prices on Sholdt settings (when set with outside diamonds).

Have you considered the Sholdt semi-bezel settings as well? There are some good examples on this thread:

I have the semi-bezel for my MRB. I got mine directly through the Sholdt workshop but I live in Seattle. I think woofmama went through Pearlman's.

The brushed rose gold is so pretty! I strongly suggested that to my then-bf (now DH) but he has always been a fan of white metals.

And D&T's ring is so lovely. I wish I could justify a second Sholdt semi.

ECs love light so my preference is a half bezel over a full bezel unless the pavilion is almost completely open. The better the cut is, the less darkness you will see once bezeled. Some ECs just "die" once bezeled.
