The one that bothers me most lately is ''weary'' for ''wary''. ''Weary'' means tired. ''Wary'' means suspicious.

''I''m weary of strangers.''

Unless you mean strangers make you tired, you meant to type ''I''m wary of strangers''.

I think I see this one misspelled more than anything else, but maybe I just see if everywhere because it annoys me the most.

Eh, i dunno.
I could really care less if people speak rightly.
It don''t really matter if your talking correct, as long as people get you.
Irregardless, it ain''t none of my bidness how people talk, that''s a personnel choice.
Accept, if I would of known people were so prim, I''da left this site a long time ago.
Anyway, this website is the best sight of all times.
Its getting late, so Ima go too sleep now.
Its all good, people. Chillax.
I''ll try....though I have to admit that I do not know what prim means
33.gif
so I can''t ''correct'' it.

Eh, I don''t know.
I couldn''t care less if people speak correctly.
It doesn''t really matter if you''re talking correctly, as long as people understand you.
Regardless, it isn''t any of your business how people talk, it''s a personal choice.
Except if I would have known people were so ____, I would have left this website a long time ago.
By the way, this website is the best website of all time.
It''s getting late, so I''m going to go to sleep now.
It''s okay, people. Just relax.

How did I do, Haven?
Except if I would have known people were so _prim___, I would have left this website a long time ago

I''m totally guilty of saying it and you know what? I couldn''t care less about it. I''ve got too much other stuff going on in my life to be bothered by it. And for the record I consider the use of an incorrect phrase to be substantially less offensive than a phrase like '' Did I **** in your pudding, love?'', which just lacks class on all levels.

Are you a proponent of ****ing in people''s pudding?

They say "the pen is mightier than the sword," but I''m starting to think it''s really the eye-rolling emoticon that makes the most powerful statement.

what REALLY irks me is that on many tv shows the characters always use "...and I" when they should use "... and me." I guess when people don''t know, they think "I" sounds more correct than "me".

example:
Character 1: "To whom should I give these books?"
Character 2: "To Anna and I."

29.gif
seriously, people?

perhaps it is a good tv show because IRL people do not know when to use me/I, but maybe if they wrote the script with correct grammar it would help educate the masses.

(this all from a poster who doesn''t bother with using capitals at the beginning of her sentences.)

The one that left me in stitches the first few times I encountered is ''please bare with me''. I''ve always wondered if it was spelt wrongly on purpose.
Haha!

I once saw someone on a message board write ''Wa-lah!'' when she was trying to say ''Voila!'' I thought that was funny (but cute).
I''ve seen some doozies on American biased message boards.

"Minus well"
"On the fents"
I can''t "phantom" the possibility . . .
I was handing out "panflips" to some people, and . . .

I play that one party game too much! The one where you say a string of words, and you have to keep saying it until you can figure out what they''re actually saying?

Like... "Aisle of mike at!" and if you say it enough, it becomes "i love my cat!"

Yes!! I had a friend who wrote that all the time! It was one of her favorite phrases and it was always wrong. LOL!

Mad Gab! I used to play that with my reading students every once in a while. It''s fun!

Eye yam olive mush een. Eye yam olive mush een! EYEAMALOVMUSHEEN! I AM A LOVE MACHINE!
I think it''s more fun to watch other people play it than to play yourself.

They say ''the pen is mightier than the sword,'' but I''m starting to think it''s really the eye-rolling emoticon that makes the most powerful statement.

It''s a time saver. Better than a lengthy or passive aggressive snark fest. One click. Simple.

That''s it! Thank you. Could not remember the name of that game.

It is funny to watch people play. I find women are much better at it than men!

My 2 year old niece is really coming along with her eye rolling skills. I think she might be diagnosed with passive aggression/snark soon (PA/S). True story.

Sunnyd, I think there is. I think it involves a lot of group therapy and learning how to get along with the rest of the world. It might be called pre-school or kindergarten? Does that sound right?

She''s lucky to have it caught early then. Most people I know develop PA/S later in life and it goes untreated.

Oh yes, very lucky. And it''s very sad, those people who develop it later in life...the effects are obvious, you know, the people who have totally white eyeballs because their irises are stuck in the back of their heads.

I love the big grin! I didn''t know it was snarky???? Seriously. Hmm...I am in serious trouble. I use it all the time--it''s so much more enthusiastic than the simple blue smiley.
