These 2 diamonds are different by almost 100 dollars. The diamonds that I am waiting for it 1.01 F IF and will cost me around 7800. Will there be a significant size different between 1.11,1.12 and 1.01. The prices on the vvs diamonds are around 9000. Please help me to choose

Thanks

may i know why did you send the diamond in for regrading?

I found this diamond at a local jewelry store for 7800.

Color : F - 1.01 carats
Clarity : IF
Cut : Excellent
Depth%: 60.9
Table %: 59.9
Symmetry: EX
Cert:GIA
Polish: very good
Girdle: don't know
Fluorescence: SB
Measurements: I don't remember

After asking advice from stone-cold and Lorelei, I found out that diamond was a buy back with a 2003 certificate. I told the store owner that I will buy the stone only if it is re-certified again by GIA. He said that if everything turn out to be the same I have to pay additional 150 for the new certificate.

************* Update : diamond 1 was sold

i like the specs on diamond #2.

Both look promising from the numbers. Prefer #1 but that is cut more for fire return while #2 is nearer to the center but with that pavilion angle, might have obstruction issue. An idealscope image is prefer for further analyzing of them both.

Hi stitch

Do you have Idealscope images for these please? Both look extremely promising.

Hi Lorelei and Stone-Cold

I was told that both diamonds are sold and I got offered this diamond

Color : F - 1.15 carats
Clarity : vvs2
Cut : Excellent
Depth%: 61.1
Table %: 57
Symmetry: EX
Cert:GIA
Polish: ex
Girdle: don't know
Fluorescence: faint
Measurement 6.76 - 6.82 x 4.15 mm

They said they won't have the H&A ,IS or ASET. What do you think of this one?

I am concerned about the cloud plot, but the dealer mentioned that even with a 10X you can't see anything. Plus the faint is totally positive since it makes the diamond appear even whiter and more brilliant

Thanks

Numbers look good to me.

No inclusions are a problem at VVS2, so stop worrying about that. Faint fluor will not do anything like what your vendor is saying, and it is an F anyway so why bother, you will need at least a medium to be visible.

This diamond has excellent numbers. No way you will see anything with VVS clarity and faint fluorescence you won''t even know its there probably.

I decide to pull the trigger on 1.15 stone. Should i bring this to an appraiser?

Depends on your comfort level with the vendor.

What happens with the stone you said you would buy if it came back with the same numbers from GIA?

Lorelei and Stone-Cold,

I am glad that I listen to your advices. Here is the result from GIA

Measurements: 6.47 - 6.53 x 3.97 mm

Carat Weight: 1.01 carat
Color Grade: F
Clarity Grade: VVS1
Cut Grade: Excellent

Proportions:
Depth: 61.1%
Table: 59%
Crown Angle: 34.5°
Crown Height: 14.0%
Pavilion Angle: 41.4°
Pavilion Depth: 44.0%
Star length: 60%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted (3.0%)

Culet: None

Finish:
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Strong Blue

It didn't come back with the same grade, VVS1, pavilion angles too steep. From that thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/1-04-carats-diamond.126893/page-2
