I’m back! Finally purchased!

@sledge Thank you! Yes, I’m 27, and have been very fortunate not to have lost anyone close to me yet. My papaw will be 60 this September, if he makes it that long. (They’re saying maybe 3 months) and my Mamaw “robbed the cradle” she is 13 years older than my papaw. They are more like Mom and Dad though, and they’re the rocks of the family, I can’t imagine life without them. I know it’s coming, but it doesn’t make it any easier.

I am sure my boyfriend will have me in suspense, but I know he’ll make it really sweet when he does decide to ask. Our relationship and our journey so far together has been a wonderful one already, so there’s really nothing else I could ask for. However, this ring sure won’t hurt! :mrgreen2:

Also, everyone (especially the ladies) will be happy to know I got myself some pretty nail polishes today!

This literally made me LOL. Good for you. Hope it's hot pink so 20 years from when he does pop the question, your kiddos can razz you about it. :P2:lol-2:

@sledge Also, so sorry for your loss. Definitely not something anyone is prepared for.

Thank you. In the grand scheme of life, I've not lost too many loved ones but I assure you it's never easy. In my case, my grandpa had an inoperable aneurysm in his brain and we knew it would happen, we just didn't know when. Some doctors said months, but we ended up getting a few years more. That said, I spent as much time as I could with him. The weird thing is we had celebrated his birthday one weekend and a few days later he went into a comma. Within the week he had passed, on Valentine's of all days about 3am.

@sledge I hate to disappoint, but pink isn’t my cup of tea lol. I’ve got a nice gold, a copperish color, a nice lavender (spring like) and a greenish color called Jaded - apparently I felt like it was a sign I get it since my middle name is Jade (I’m such a girl)

I really hate to hear that. I was telling my Papaw the other day that it isn’t fair - but he said it’s just life. He had throat cancer 19 years ago and really we all realize what a miracle it is/was that he survived that.

Sorry it’s been a while since my last update. My Papaw passed away May 20th. My boyfriend (now fiancé) had a hot air balloon ride booked for Memorial Day weekend, but cancelled it due to the funeral being the Thursday before that. Fast forward to this previous weekend, he took me to Knoxville and we went to the zoo! (Yes we are 27, no children yet aside from a fur child, (a lot of kids at the zoo, so I see a lot more trips once we have some of our own!) but we love the zoo!) after the zoo we went to a nice restaurant - I know, when did he ask?!

My fella got nervous, and although he had plans to ask me at the zoo in front of the penguins - (story goes, male penguins will search for miles for the perfect pebble to present to their mate, then they start a family and stick together forever) we ended up traveling back home and taking a detour to the overlook at Pine Mountain, which was perfect (I’m a sucker for a pretty view)
It was a simple, yet wonderful proposal, and although he was upset it wasn’t more extravagant, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Plus our fur child got to be with us, so it was just us, and it was perfect. Very emotional, but perfect.

Oh, it is absolutely beautiful!!! I love the proposal story and the pictures with the puppy paw in it!!!!! :love:Being a doggie lover myself, it is just adorable

@farrahlyn thank you! She is our little love. Soon we will have pictures done and I plan on letting her wear a sign that says “my humans are getting married” lol

So perfect! Congratulations!

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Papaw. I am sure he will be looking down from above with love and guidance throughout your life. Congratulations on your beautiful proposal. To me, the simpler and more intimate proposals are the best.

Sorry for your loss @ashjade. From our prior conversations it sounds like the past month has been rough on you.

On the bright side, I am so happy your guy finally popped the question -- and you got the bling! Congratulations!!!

Congratulations @ashjade :appl::appl::appl: Your ring is so beautiful and it looks perfect on your hand!

Congratulations!!! The ring is gorgeous and your furbaby is adorable!

Sorry to hear about your pawpaw, he is most certainly celebrating with you in spirit. Hugs!

Personally I would like to see a picture without your fury friend, because you are not marrying the dog.
Last time i checked it was between you and your fiancé( the human kind).

With the picture of the ring, fiancé and dog, I see you had your nails done......sound like you were just shocked that he proposed then and was not even the least prepared!

Your BF/Fiance sounds so sweet...wanting it to be perfect and it sounds like it was! Congrats to you both!!!

Congrats to you both!!! I'm at work reading through all the posts on this thread and now I'm in tears (both happy and sad tears).

When my hubby and I got engaged, I too knew it was going to happen soon as we shopped together for my ring. He ended up proposing when we went on a trip up north to view fall leaves. It was not an extravagant event, just standing outside enjoying the beautiful view. It was simple and full of love and I'll never forget it!! You will always treasure the moment.

PS. LOVE that you included your fur child in the photos.

Not sure how to take your comments, but...

Our dog was on our trip with us, so it was fitting for us to have her in the few shots I did take at that moment. We will eventually be getting someone else to take our engagement pictures.
As far as the nails, I don’t get them done, I always keep them painted myself. I knew we were going on our first actual trip together that wasn’t work related, so i did paint them before we left for the weekend.

Congratulations on your engagement!

I am very sorry for your loss.

I saw this earlier today and started responding but then got tied up and couldn't finish it.

In short, my thoughts was @WillyDiamond can go pound sand. How or who (human or furry) you take pics isn't his concern. Nor if your nails were done or not. Many women regularly get their nails & toes done, waxed, massaged, hair dyed, etc.

And your first post of this thread pretty much laid it out there the ring was in and you were just waiting on a proposal.

Sorry he tried to rain on your parade. Ignore him.

@sledge You’re right. I really shouldn’t have even gave him a response. There’s always that one person, though. Seems as though most of you have took the time to read the full thread however, so I appreciate that and all of your kind words.

By the way - did you get yours ordered/made yet? I haven’t been keeping up with all the posts since everything has been hectic lately.

You're welcome @ashjade. I really am happy for you and yours, and sorry anyone has possibly stolen any of that excitement.

And I'm still trying to get mine finalized. Pulling out my hair currently. And I keep it short, so there isn't much to pull.

But I've got a wax model to look at and I think we are getting close. I am trying to wrap up things and get the ring by 6/29 so I can present that next day.

@sledge oh goodness, that’s not much longer! I’d be a nervous wreck lol. I hope it all comes together the way you want it to! I know when we ordered ours (wasn’t even really custom, they already offered the setting I had picked) it took 2 weeks to get, from production to shipping. Which shipping was over night, so that part wasn’t bad. I’m sure it will be worth all of the time and stress you’ve put into it, though.
