Job? Why have humans at all, at that rate? Darned scary. Besides, except for a few -- a number you could count on one hand -- educated & smart enough to invent these things (the robots themselves will invent most of what's needed), the rest of us will become stupid through lack of use of our brains -- reverse evolution.

But what if it all goes away? An ex-CIA guy the other day talked about wiping out our electric grid. By natural forces, such as when the sun releases a magnetic blast or whatever you call it -- but the bigger threat by far is a nuke. It doesn't need a very strong one, he said. A nuclear bomb makes a huge blast of radio waves iirc that will knock out our electric power, which could be protected against this event but is not. All that's needed is a launcher that can put something into orbit & a program to make it detonate over the U.S. At only 30,000 feet, the altitude a plane flies, the damage can be done. Iran is working on this and so is N. Korea & it isn't difficult.

Imagine our world without electricity. Besides the basics: water especially, food, heating & cooling, there would be no medicines, no transportation (no gas), no communication except with your neighbors, on & on. Almost no one today knows how to live off the land. Certainly not me, and DH & I both have chronic conditions requiring daily meds. This guy estimated 90% of the country would die. I've had the creeps for 2 days since I saw that!
