I recently acquired this emerald cut diamond from Ebay. I made an offer and the seller accepted, to my surprise! It is a 1.23 carat emerald cut. It is a K color, which I think it looks very white considering and my jeweler was surprised at this. I think because of the color, though, I would like to set it in rose gold to bring out the warmth. I would prefer a right hand ring, as I think this stone is ring worthy. These are photographs the seller took. I found it very difficult to capture this stone in photos...looks beautiful in person!

What kind of setting would you put this in? I'm looking for inspiration.

THANK YOU! I do love east-west settings. Love the first photo you posted with a split shank (and the Leon, but he's a bit out of my price range). I just had an oval set east-west, so I'm not sure if I want to do it for this project, too. Hmm...it is really pretty though.

Congrats on your beautiful diamond! It's gorgeous! How about Tacori?? I love the contrast of textures between the frostiness of the round cut pave stones next to the glassy-ness of the Emerald cut! GORGEOUS!!!!!! ENJOY!!!!!!!! :wavey:

Thank you so much! I'll have to look into Tacori settings for emerald cuts. I have seen some gorgeous halos, etc. by Tacori on the boards. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

What a pretty stone! I can't remember what your ering looks like (my apologies), but I'd probably go with a vintage style setting or else something super sleek (I know, totally different looks!)...what's your budget

I
I like this one from LOGR:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6x8mm-Emerald-Cut-14K-Gold-56CT-Diamond-Ring-Settings-/250962403550?pt=Diamond_Solitaire_with_Accents&hash=item3a6e8660de

Thank you so much, yenny! I love, love, love the vintage look. Your oval's setting maxes me drool a little! My e-ring is a halo, and I have a RHR that is halo'd...so i may prefer to stay away from that. But I'm okay with any other type of setting. Don't really know how much I want to commit to this project. If I see a setting that tickles my fancy, I'm willing to spend a little more.

I really like that LOGR setting. I'm going to see if they have any non-halos. Thank you!!

I like the idea of side trapezoids. The emerald cut could be set either north-south or east-west and still look cool with trapezoids. Maybe do colored stone traps. Which side stones would depend on budget and the look you're going for - you could do rosy-pink sapphires, tsavorites, maybe a softer purple tanzanite? Again, depending on budget, I think the emerald cut would look awesome in unplated 18k white gold.

This is how I would set it, with rose gold bezels around all the step cuts. http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/art-deco-platinum-engagement-ring-pid-1056-44.html

Gypsy, that is one of the most beautiful settings I've ever seen. That's something I would expect to see from Singlestone, etc. Gorgeous, thanks!!

I like the idea of pink sidestones, especially since I'm going to be setting it in rose gold. Thanks for the idea! :)

Purplesilk, thanks so much! These will keep me busy for a while.

Loving the inspiration! Keep it coming!

Pretty stone. The color is really calling out for a vintage setting, I think. I like the style of the one Gypsy posted, but I'd use a mix of blue sapphires and white diamonds to highlight the color of the emerald cut, and play up the Art Deco look.

I'm attaching a photo of one of my favorite vintage east-west settings. I have no idea where this photo came from -- maybe this ring belongs to someone here!

That's GORGEOUS. Anyone have any idea where it's from? I really dig it.

+1 - Doesn't Cellentani have her round in a setting similar to this? I think she got hers from a local jeweler though. Maybe Saturn?

ihy! Did you decide on a setting for your EC stone yet? Were any of the links able to at least narrow down your options?
Interested in an update as to where you are in your design process, because that is going to be a STUNNING ring when it comes to life!!!

keep up posted! :D
