I picked up a really great peridot a few months ago and now that I'm ready to set it I'm having second thoughts. I posted a few photos here, but am unable to copy the photos to this thread (thanks work computer!)

The peridot is emerald cut, 6.5x8.5mm. I know that peridot is soft and I want to make sure it is well protected. I have a setting sort of picked out from a local jeweler (photo in the above thread) BUT I'm worried that it needs more protection that that setting can offer. I'm not in a huge hurry to set it so I don't mind poking around for a while until I find something suitable. I just want to make sure the stone is as secure and well protected as possible.
Thoughts/suggestions?
