How would you set this OMB?

Hi all,

We have no idea what we're doing -- neither of us has ever bought jewelry, let alone diamond jewelry, but BF and I are now in need of an engagement ring (yay!). We recently put a deposit on this stone, which our jeweler encouraged us to get. I believe it's a 3 1/4 ct GIA "old mine brilliant", H, VS1, 9mm ish. Sorry, we don't have a pic.

Any ideas how it should be set? We were thinking platinum, pretty simple so as to not outshine the stone, but with a nod to its antique-y side. Google images hasn't turned up anything exciting, and we're sort of at a loss for ideas.

Any insight would be very appreciated, thank you!

If you intend to wear the ring allot, there is only so much intricacy that will still look great after a decade of intense wear ... Still, even being overly cautious & conservative, there are TOO MANY possibilities !

That stone would sing in anything.
