I agree with the indirect light, that seems to bring out all the beautiful colours! I also find zooming in helps to capture the arrows well too.

Hmm. I just have an old I-phone but for me, the best pics are actually in the sun when the stone sparkles like crazy. The ring actually looks like if was catching on fire! The indirect light does not make it sparkle as much so I guess it is a personal presence what one wants to see?

I am into sparkly things so I love seeing my ring "catching fire" :)
