I like this diamond based on size, but I think the cloudiness and all of the treatments (looks like at least 3 different treatment processes are listed) will cause me to have to be very careful of what I put my hands in...lighting my fireplaces, grilling, cooking and gardening and such like ladies do in the South :).

I think my fiance should offer a lower price than $13K based on the items I've mentioned above, and also including the following specs, regarding clarity, as well as the UNITED GEM LABORATORY appraisal, that seems to be questionable in your expert circles:

I do not want to low ball this seller and offend him/her...Can you give me some input on what you think a good cash price for this diamond is?

$500 bucks if you catch me on a good day. this diamond is... :knockout:

o.k. that sounds bad...Thank you for your comment...

Make sure you understand what 'clarity enhanced' means. It's important. I2-CE is the absolute bottom of the scale. You didn't give a size, color or shape of the major stone, all of which are important details and affect the pricing but the FIRST question is to get a firm grasp on what you want. Even the right price on the wrong thing is no bargain. Have you actually seen the piece or just a picture of it?

An I2 CE should never cost anywhere near $13K. I would not buy it for more than a few hundred, even if I were to consider it.

No kidding. This is really scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of stones. I wouldn't pay a single thousand, let alone 13 of them for this.

Also any jeweler that it putting this forward as a good diamond is one you should not be doing business with.

   A good cash offer? $0.00. The only reason I'd buy that is for the setting and put a colored stone in it. Even then, I probably wouldn't offer more than a few hundred dollars because more than likely the setting is of poor quality as well.

Again:

Well, this 4.1 ct J I2 AVR is 10k... http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9435 so I think saying that 13k is overpriced when it is a 5+ ct stone is probably an exaggeration. BUT what many people are communicating is that most of us would not buy a clarity-enhanced stone or an I2 at any price.

Again, everyone, thank you for your input...and for the comparison link, as well....yes, I understand your thought processes regarding the quality and value of what you're tastes and experiences are accustomed to...

you have been more than helpful to my fiance and I, as we are mere novices....and all the reading in the world would never be as valuable as the input that we have received from your group on today...

Kind and warm regards to all of you ....
