So what do you think about that "amazing" woman who had a mock assassination of Trump in her classroom?

Are you going to try and bury this post as soon as possible under your P shirts.

DeeJay, I have always thought "CB" stood for "Current Boyfriend" as though there were many! I am so disappointed to learn that there is only one. :((

Well... OK... there is more to the story...

I was in KC a very short time and I made reference to my boyfriend in a thread. Someone (and I honestly don't remember who) got all up in arms because I had JUST gotten there and ALREADY I had a boyfriend?!? Ergo the clarification (left over from) Chicago Boyfriend.

But there are days when I'm willing to trade the CB for a NB (New Boyfriend).

(I kid, I kid... well maybe... :naughty: )

I can understand their dislike for Trump.

It is their infatuation with the P and V words that I find disturbing.

Ruby- I have read your posts for some days now. I understand that you don't like words used that you see as uncouth. I have also repeatedly seen long lists made by you of how you would prefer people speak, and what types of words to use and not use so as to not be offensive to you.

However, please let me point you to this quote (chosen at random):

Since the 2016 presidential election, liberal educators across the fruited plain have gone slap crazy. I wrote about these phenomena in my new book, “The Deplorables’ Guide to Making America Great Again.”

Some teachers have even turned their classrooms into breeding grounds for anti-Trump propaganda – going so far as to portray the commander-in-chief as a modern-day Adolf Hitler.

And I lost count of the number of educators who refused to broadcast the inauguration ceremony over fears that some fragile snowflake might take offense.

But what happened in Dallas is yet another example of how our public schools have been turned into social engineering petri dishes festering with rancorous rhetoric and hate.

And stop posting pictures implying that those who voted for Trump are brain dead. People obviously had their reasons for doing so. So do not make light of them.

I suspect you are being ignored because you appear to be failing to follow your own guidelines, especially on these following two points.

From the other side it would read "stop trying to flame the other side with phrases like "snowflake". It is rude. And the try not to belittle other posters is a little loaded, unfortunately, as often dis-agreeing with people these days seems to be viewed as belittling.

You can't help what someone calls another person, you can only take responsibility for yourself and how you refer to people, and how people refer to you. When you begin to reference people you are speaking with as something, ie, "snowflake", or "brain dead", then there is surely cause for personal offense on either side.

I don't like Trump. That is a given. I have also not referred to him in any manner you listed above. I choose not to. I hope you would grant the same respect when referring to those who aren't part of your political viewpoint and hopefully will stop making gross generalizations to snowflakes. Honestly, it's something you have to choose to do for yourself, and not something you can require of others, because you can only be responsible for yourself.

It's still very popular, too! My DH only actually got *really* into it within the last year. (I would consider us official, card carrying nerds though - hardcore fans of Star Wars, Star Trek, sci/fi, horror, comic books, reading in general - etc etc).

Your post makes absolutely no sense.

You feel libs should be able to post whatever they want but when conservatives fight back, it is belittling.

I responded in a thread of how to make political threads better. So obviously I posted what I thought would make it better. I extended an olive branch and it was thrown in my face.

Snowflakes - that was a quote from the article I posted. Used once.

But you tell me why almost every post in this thread has the word "P in it? Obsession much?

I am being ignored. If I was, people here would not continually try to bury my posts as soon as I make them.

Part of my political viewpoint - the conservatives here have been angels compared to the way you libs have been acting. Conservatives might have more guns, but libs sure do have murder on their mind alot.

Disagreeing is not belittling. It is the constant attack from those who have opinions other than yours.

Look around. This board has dwindled down to just a few. Read the posts from the other posters who no longer come here.

And question why this board has become the toilet it is now.

Well, not sure where that came from. I only asked the same of you that you asked of others, and see how you replied to me? I can't answer for others. I can only choose to not do the same and so I did not, and still did not, even with your reply to me. So never mind...

Well after seeing the picture of the CB in his shirt I think you need to reconsider what CB stands for DeeJay. Cute Boyfriend definitely applies to man in the picture. Nothing sexier than a man in a pussy shirt!

Well... OK... there is more to the story...

:naughty: )

Ya brazen shameless hussy!

Dee Jay, may I say how lovely you look in your new t shirt as does your CB. I confess like Monnie I always thought CB stood for Current Boyfriend too. He is fetching especially in that T. :appl:

And may I add those are the best type of hussies. Those brazen shameless ones. The other hussies not as good. 8-)

Matata, that T shirt you posted is my very favorite one of all. :halo:
Bah! Brazen shameless hussies are wusses and can't shine a candle to flaming little tarts

Oh well that's a different story. I quite agree. You cannot compare the hussy with the tart. Different category completely. IMO. 8)
Tarts do outshine hussies. Even the little flaming ones. In fact no one can hold a candle to the flaming tart. Category unto itself IMO.

So what do you think about that "amazing" woman who had a mock assassination of Trump in her classroom?

Are you going to try and bury this post as soon as possible under your P shirts.

Ruby, for 8 years I - as a liberal(ishy) - I have seen pictures of target practice on Obama, hanging pictures of Obama. Where you so up in arms at that? it's tit for tat. A teacher should not have done that in her classroom, it's not known who was in there with her. She is gonna get he can man as we used to say at IBM.

Did you feel the same amount of anger when Trump said the grab by the pword etc? because that is violence.

Just to say also, I get ignored too, :) sometimes not.. it's part of life. I think some posters just go on the 'funny' rather than want to continue talking past you. You are conservative, you see life much more structured than some women (including me fer sure).. You WANT to get along and that is to your huge credit.. I appreciate that. BUT! I don't know how people with such divergent views can get along.. Truthfully for 8 years the republican conservatives blocked everything Obama tried to do, if you don't believe me, read up on it.. as a democrat I watched my president, whom I thought had a decent shot at unifying the country, I watched the conservatives literally kill everything he wanted to accomplish.. WHY? well because they are conservatives and none of what Obama wanted for America is what they wanted. So now we have a minority of Americans telling people what to do.. We have a president who lies. seriously, even Fox said it... these are strange times indeed. Because Trump won, you want the other side to get along with conservatives.. like I said I understand that, I just don't think it can happen.. I'm sorry to say that to you, because I used to think if republicans would just meet in the middle, things would improve, but they never would.. So there is frustration on a technical win by Trump, by the gerrymandering of red states by republicans to win indefinitely.

DancingFire always makes a good case that democrats not only lost the national election they own the states. As long as we had Obama, we felt safe. Don't feel safe anymore.. I feel like I should buy a gun (almost) because I now have a president who is trying to de-legitimize the mainstream press, deny help to poor women (the old planned parenthood problem).. Democratic liberals etc feel THEIR rights are being trampled on and eroded..

Red said months ago that she didn't want the liberals on the coasts telling her what to do.. I thought a lot about that I and I felt bad about that.. So now I am in her shoes and I don't like it at all.. not one bit. I hope things improve in 4 years.. :)

I will say this and then shut up: when NAFTA took effect, I didn't like it, nope, and it did what I thought it would do.. take jobs, but it also allowed people to have cheaper goods.. tariffs are bad.. but that is life. While NAFTA is good for Americans, what American democrats/republicans didn't do was assist those who lost their jobs, republicans whined about welfare, well those who lost their jobs are some of those on welfare. They aren't coal miners, they are people in cities/towns who lost their jobs and nothing new came to town..

Kudos to you girlie for trying. Try just ignoring the p word and the vword.. These ladies and men all have feelings and beliefs. The reason why the n word is so used by blacks is to own that word, to de-stigmatize it for themselves Ruby.. Same thing for the ladypart slang words.. just to own it and to not make it a weapon by men :)

peace, love and good vibes to you and yours.

Thanks lovedogs. I do happen to agree that if you choose to enter in to a political discussion (I'm answering the topic line here), it's better to table the trigger words and emotional talk (and be heavily prepared to back yourself with facts*) to have a meaningful one. But I also understand I can't make people do that by force or ultimatum, and as in your response to me, I often find (not always) that if I try to stay logical, someone's response to me (can't say to everyone else) may stay logical. So, having found myself in the middle of "mixed company" discussions many times in the last year, here's my own view of the choices of a discussion:

1- Enter in to the fray in full battle gear and come out swinging (common choice).
2- Ignore and say nothing (also pretty common)
3- make a response, even to someone who uses trigger words, but ignore use of trigger words or emotional rhetoric in response (not common)
4- make a response, but ignore any posts which you dislike....

*What do I consider facts? Things that are verifiable. Articles that I can't verify through multiple well known sources, or that use emotional rhetoric to make their point either direction, or use only hearsay with no factual backup, are automatically suspect to me. For example, I was reading an article on the recent gag orders of the new administration, and the article stated that to be fair, it has been present in other administrations as well, though not in regards to gagging data, only policy. That's when I tend to give a piece of information some credence.
