How to choose a wedding band to go with an antique e-ring if you don''t want engraving or milgrain?

Gwen, what about a plain 2mm platinum band? If you know that down the road you're getting the MM plat e-ring, a 2 mm or 3mm plat band would definately work & that way you could continue to wear the wedding band that you and J exchanged at your wedding?

Domed 2 mm from e-wedding bands is $295 USD:

3 mm light weight band $279 USD

I think this is a great idea.

Here are a few more options. They're WG, but you could always switch it to the other hand when you get your other set. Or, if they aren't too much more in plat, that might be a worthy splurge so you could pair one (or two) with your forever e-ring every now and then.

.16ctw Diamond Band ($325)

.21ctw Diamond Band ($325)

.35ctw Diamond Band ($375)

Gwen, I''ll be darned if this doesn''t look like an amazingly close match to your antique engagement ring. There are circles under the stones and triangles, and it ends in a chevron like your e-ring does. The round stones are set into squares of gold. Very close. See what you think.

I think gemgirl hit the nail on the head here! It''s a perfect match!

I think GemGirl''s match is perfection!

However I have a thought about the plain band. If it looks weird simply because of the smoothness and difference in height, then this won''t apply...but what about one that''s not rounded? I think maybe the backs of your rings probably have curved sides right? Whereas your ering doesn''t, so I think the two together would look weird. How about trying a plain, flat band with non-roundy edges like this instead?

Gwen, I have no idea if this will work or if you''ll like it, but what about a plain band in unplated white gold, like Coati''s (but without the milgrain)? Link

Gives you a bit more of an antique look without the embellishments.

Gwen! Did you ever find your wedding band? Are you still looking?

Sorry, ladies! I, er, sorta forgot about this thread--how awful of me! Thanks for the bump!

That is a perfect match! Holy moly, I am amazed! I will definitely add that to my list--probably right to the top considering the price too! Thanks, gemgirl!
