Hi!
I am looking to get a 6-prong knife edge solitaire. I tried on T&Co's several times,
other knife edge solitaires, and 1.5ct Vatche U113 in size 6.
From the side, the overall shape of Vatche U113 is very similar to T&Co.
The head isn't buried into the shoulder that deeply so it doesn't have that "squatty" look that a lot of knife edge solitaires do,
except that I find the band part of the ring a little too thin and short in height.
I was told the width of the band for the 1.5ct ring was 2mm.
I want to keep the overall shape of the ring but somehow want the band to have 2.5mm width
with larger donut and slightly taller in height.
Since 2mm to 2.5mm change is 25%,
I thought about asking the jeweller to make the setting 125% larger than they normally do.
Will this change take away the delicateness of the ring?
I can't imagine what the ring will look like with the 25% increase.
Do you think the prongs will look too bulky and the head will look like it is buried into the shoulder?
I do find the head of Superbcert/Exceldiamonds knife edge solitaire too bulky.
My budget will allow me to get a 1.8~2ct center stone.
I wish there was a way to see it somehow before I commit to the modification.
