How Serious is Dropping it

I hate to admit I've dropped a few things. I dropped my ring just now and one of my earrings all set with gemstones (diamonds/ emeralds/ sapphire).
If it looks ok and doesnt seem loose when I pick it up is it safe to assume its ok? or how serious is dropping a jewelry piece? Does it usually result in a problem? Thx

Anyone who says they haven’t dropped their jewellery is lying.

Either check them carefully with a loupe (if you have one and know how to use it) or make an appointment with your local jeweller ASAP. They might be just fine! But they might not be okay, and if they’re not you want to find out sooner rather than later because any damage is only going to get worse with use.
