Hello eapj! WE ARE KINDRED SPIRITS!
It's so nice to hear that others have the same particular brand of hair "organization"
My neighbors all make fun of me.. they will text me to see if my hair is dirty because they would like to exercise that day with me and they know if the hair ain't dirty there ain't no running going on!

HI:

My DH would shower 4 times a day if it were "permissible". But I do the laundry....LOL

I do laundry, wash my hair and body a hell of a lot more than I clean my jewellery!!! In fact I can't remember when I last cleaned my stuff.....disgusting?:D

cheers--Sharon

People have unique body chemistry and some just smell less. I also get no shoe smell and am extremely fussy about smells in general. Some people, even if they shower a lot, just smell. I am sure some of this has to do with how oily one’s skin is. The other reason is laundry. A lot of people shower but wear shirts/clothes several times. Once there is bacteria in the fabric, if there is a bit of sweat the bacteria will be released. This is the reason I use non-chlorine enzyme based laundry additive. Also, some people allow wet laundry to rot. Horrible smell, you never get it out. I have seen how many others keep their clothes and am thoroughly disgusted. A lot of people are just really unkept/unclean. Again they probably never learnt but they also have no personal standard. One should value their own body and the personal possessions they spent their money on. Another pet peeve: grimy earrings.

If I tried to shower in the mornings, I'd drown; I am not a morning person. There is a daily shower before lunch; my hair is short & fine, so it hardly takes a couple of minutes to everything, I like how its styles itself & have never interfered. The only kind of bath I do involves natural bodies of water nearby, esp. the (bearably) hot.

People often ask me (most recently my dental tech, for example, while cleaning my teeth) what perfume I'm wearing, when I'm wearing none.

I would probably not believe you, if I had not met another person with this property; I had to ask about the violet-like scent! I am a dark musk, for sure, could never get away with it.

I live in a tropical Aussie climate ie it's hot in summer you walk outside and you can be dripping with sweat and my hair sticks to my face from sweat. I shower in the morning before I go out and at night before I go to bed. I wash my hair every single day....

Sometimes I shower 3 times a day... I'm sure it would be different if I lived in a colder climate.

Yes I hear you and agree... in the summer when it’s hot and humid I often shower three times a day. And because I work out daily I must shower after my workouts. So depending on when I work out I am showering twice that day though I usually workout in the morning before I need to shower so that’s one shower right after my workout.

The down side of it, @AV_ , is that mosquitoes LOVE me. I remember going swimming once with my husband in my family's pool. After a while I said to him - "I need to get out, the mozzies are bothering me." This was quite the admission, as swimming is my favorite thing in the whole world, and it takes a LOT to make me get out of a pool. But he agreed that they were bothering him too, so out we got.

When we got inside, I counted the bites on him and he had 2, while I had 28. This isn't particularly unusual for me. Unfortunately, I smell slightly floral to *everybody* - especially bees, who adore me!

It also really limits the number of perfumes I can wear. Musky perfumes just smell odd. I mean - it's not like I smell like a bunch of flowers in spring, or anything. I just don't smell like much of anything, and any scent I do have is very faintly sweet. I really do think it's because of the amount of water I drink.

They love me too! I think it has something to do with our blood? If there are 100 people around I’ll get all the bites. And they always hive up. Very uncomfortable. I limit my time outdoors once the sun sets. Though I get bites in bright daylight too.

@arkieb1 - where are you? I was in the Blue Mountains in NSW - and will go back there permanently in the not tooooo distant future. Are you in Queensland? My hasband's family owns a number of properties in QLD and we used to go up there a lot.

His family home, tho, was in Casino in NSW, which often gets the hottest reported temperature in Australia on the nighty weather. I remember one Christmas it was so hot, the ONLY place I could get cool was in the shower. In the end, I was using so much water I felt super guilty and we decided to go home. It was a HUGE house with very high ceilings, and ceiling fans in every room. But nothing could alleviate that heat!

At least it was a dry heat, tho. "Tropical' is a whole different ball game. When we go home, we'll have 2 houses - one in the Blue Mountains and one in the Whitsundays. I'm sure I'll be back to 2 showers a day, with a swim in the middle, then!

@missy - totally agree on the 100 people around - bites all mine experience!

We get our whole yard sprayed for mosquitoes monthly here in Boston in spring, summer and fall. It's been a revelation. It's some sort of plant oil (mint?), mixed in with water and doesn't hurt the plants or the dogs. We started getting it done when we first came here, and now we NEVER have mosquitoes in our home. It allows me to sit outdoors for dinner on our verandah pretty much every evening in the summer and really improves the way we live. We also have a large paved area which allows us to let the dogs outside when the gardeners are here, or in winter when we want them to go outside, but don't want them to get soaking wet in the snow. We always keep that area cleared of snow and there's a dining set and a lounge set, plus a bunch of pot plants that go out there in the summer. We spend a lot of time out there also, throwing balls for the dogs, etc, or eating / sitting out there if we want some sun. Again, the anti-mozzie spray has allowed us to enjoy our yard so much more and I'd heartily recommend it!

Beautiful vernanda @mrs-b
I use this:

and it works pretty well but I am not excited to put it to the evening test...we have very aggressive mosquitos at the Jersey shore lol.

Glad you have found a fool proof treatment and I will look into your recommendation. Thank you.

Would you mind sharing what exactly it is, please? Our daughter is an absolute mosquito magnet and we have tried citronella candles, plug in anti mosquito scents , lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, but she'll have 48 bites while everyone else has 2/3 -10 . If it's natural oil, I'll spray our garden and maybe her clothes.
Eta: she, like me, has very sensitive skin, so most chemical options seriously irritate her skin

Too much of a price to pay ,(

Before moving to Granada, I fought the good fight against mosquitos too; here, I am forgetting what they sound like. Wild bees are something to consider instead, I would be moving if they found me interesting.

I am a mosquito magnet and im sure weary now after having a bite i scratched turn nasty and get infected a few years back

when i was a kid something we used to all do in the lead up to a school camp was lots of vitiman B - we just ate tons of vegemite
But i have noticed over the years that Berrocca sweats out my skin and i can smell it on my arms ...and those days i don't get bitten

I shower and wash my hair every second day. For most of my adult life it was daily, but then when I was pregnant with twins, I had complications and was on strict bedrest and not allowed to bathe often. During that time I realized I could do fine not bathing daily. Also, as I've gotten older, I find bathing quite drying for my skin, so if I could bathe even less, I would! But also - I live in Canada where we have hot weather for only a few months of the year.

For non-shower days when my hair feels a little wilted, I have discovered dry shampoo. Batiste original is my favorite by far.

Anne

Batiste is a life saver. I usually shower 3-5 of 7 days. Washing my hair is another story. I might wash my hair 3 times on a good week... usually twice weekly. Clean hair = wearing hair down. Days 2 through 3-4 (and sometimes 5, if I'm being honest) means ponytail with the very last day being a bun. :shifty:

I don't go to work or work out and we have air conditioning, so unless it's summer and I am outside a lot, I don't absolutely have to shower daily! Today, for example, it was cold and rainy, so I stayed in my gown and robe and finished our taxes! So I am ready for bed again in a few hours!

I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. I have never had oily hair or skin, and my dry skin especially in the winter really doesn't need a daily shower especially if I am not leaving the house. So I might skip a day or two in a week, but not two in a row! I promise if I get together with any of you, I will definitely be clean and have clean hair!

I recently learned something astounding. Our youngest daughter was living here last year after college until her wedding. One day I asked if she had everything she needed for some trip and mentioned deodorant. She said she didn't use it because she has no body odor! I cannot believe she was 23 and I didn't know that!!! She is the one adopted from China, and when I looked it up, apparently many Asians have that wonderful advantage! @missy, you are the first non-Asian person that I have heard of saying that, and it reminded me about my daughter!
