how much should I hope to receive for this diamond ring?

Good morning.
I hope that you can help me. My friend is in a financial "tight" and wants me to sell her engagement ring online. She has provided an appraisal that totals $2,000.00.
It is a 1/3 carat marquise cut, H color and I1 quality with a small crack through the center(not visible to the eye).It is set in 6 prongs, ina 14K ring.It is surrounded by a 14kt gold ring guard with 28 tapered baguette cut diamonds that are 3-4 points each and total approximately 1 carat total weight-they are H color and SI-I1 quality.
I know that she cannot expect to get $2,000.00. Please give me a rough idea of what to ask for this set.She wanted me to have a reserve price of $1,500.00, but I think that is still too much.

No offense - but I don't think she will get more than $100 for it!

I clarity is awful in most cases - it is already cracked - and only 1/3 carat? Nope...sorry but she is out of luck.

She can try Ebay - but I'd tell her set the limit at $100 max.

Anyone else have a suggestion different than mine?

I don't think she can expect to get more than $400 on ebay. Ebay bidders don't expect to pay much for something they cannot see. I would take it to a local jeweler who is willing to sell it for her.
Very sad that her financial situation requires her to consider such a thing. (unless she never liked the ring anyway).
